Hi Talali......I felt the same absolute glee when I rode my Roscoe 9 for the first time. It brings me back to the days of my teenage years when I did'nt have a care in the world and everything was good. Riding a bike brings that back to me everytime. Still spinning the crankarms at age 67.

@@TalalipopMTB I've been deciding between the seven or nine because the eight doesn't hit the mark on the drivetrain. Do you really think it's worth an extra $1,000 for the nine which has better Wheels Forks and brakes. I'm sort of a beginner cuz I haven't been out in a couple years I'm a little scared of the 32 mm stanchions on the sevens Fork but I'm not even sure if I'll notice it at first. Also I know if I was to upgrade the forks, Wheels and brakes it will be more than $1,000. Might be doing some more downhill than flats or UPS but definitely a mixture of everything. I think the seven should be good enough for me for now and then I can upgrade as Parts break or get worn out or I get better. It will cost more to upgrade the seven then to just buy the nine, IDK? What do you think?

The stanchions on the 7 are fine in my opinion as long as you’re not jumping or riding really hard trails. The 9 will pretty much need no upgrades if you get that one, and then you can just focus on riding. I got the 7 personally so I could choose what parts to put on it but you’re right that it’s a more expensive route that way.

I too waited over 2 year for my new trek, after I purchased a 2019 Roscoe 8 and loved it, one I realized they redesigned the fram for better trail usage I went to get one and the 2 years started. … I got my new Roscoe spec’d to the 27.5 2.8 tires. Love it. It was great hearing your excitement when you first rode; I know the feeling!

I actually just got a warranty frame on my Roscoe 8. When I heard it was coming in this black/silver I instantly thought of putting a Pike Ultimate on in the near future as well. In all I waited 9 months for the R8 to originally arrive, and another 6 months to get my warranty frame. Thankfully the original frame was still ride able for that 6 months of waiting, it just had an issue with the rear triangle making it extremely hard to put on the rear wheel if taken off. I'm glad so many people have had good experiences with the new Roscoe and I guess this success will mean Trek will continue to take trail hardtails seriously.

Haven't owned a bike since a teen and was kinda set on the new Marlin 8 before nerding on the specs and checking out the Roscoe linup. From the majority of reviews and comments on many many videos, the consensus seem to be that for the money the Marlin 8 should have some more modern upgrades that are basically all found in the new Roscoe 7. Better (more modern) frame, thru axels front and rear, tapered head tube, dropper post, better crankset and bottom bracket, etc. I think I'll likely just go this route (Roscoe 7) and have maybe too much bike for my needs and skill vs. buying inferior parts that I may need to upgrade and some of which are not possible with the Marlin frame and wheel set.

I got the same roscoe you have. I wanted to get a specialized but i seen the roscoe and it had everything i wanted so i took the plunge. I put white pedals on mine and put a smaller front sprocket and a solid aluminum sprocket guard that bolted right onto the frame. I use it as a dirt jump bike i dont do tricks on it pretty much catch some air and do spine transfers only complaintni have is the shocks could be a bit stiffer in the lock out setting. I was thinking of buying down hill rated tired but i dont think they will fit.

I've only ridden hybrid bikes in the past and am shopping for an MTB to take on the trails (we've got a few parks within 10 miles that have dedicated MTB trails), as well as quick rides in the neighborhood. Currently debating a Marlin 7 to test the waters on MTB riding or jumping fully in and going for the Roscoe 7. Any suggestions?

A Rockhopper is a good option too. I love mine.

A roscoe is definitely a great mountain bike, but I know some people may prefer to test the waters with a less expensive hardtail bike like the marlin, then eventually upgrade to a more comfortable full suspension bike and skip the roscoe. If you think you'll be comfortable riding on a hardtail though the roscoe is perfect!

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

I have owned a 2019 Roscoe 7 (Deore) and currently own a 2021 Roscoe 7 (SRAM SX). Happy to see Trek go back to Shimano. SX is garbage. Sad to see a massive price increase from $1359 to $1899 in one year! Prices on all bikes are now crazy! This is definitely a capable bike.

Hey, man! Been binge watching your videos lately. I have decided to pick up a Trek Roscoe 7 2022 too! The only problem I encounter is that the only size I can find here locally at the Philippines is in the size M/L. I have a height of 165 cm, so it's around 5'4 to 5'5. My inseam is 77 cm, so it's around 30 inches. Will I still fit in the M/L size? My other concern is that although I haven't test ride the bike, I might have to lower the seat post to its lowest position to accommodate my height to the point where having a dropper is useless. Do you think that will be the case or will I be fine with an M/L size?

The Roscoe 6 uses a completely different frame than the other 3 Roscoe models, and the Roscoe 6 frame is much more dated. I covered all that info in my 2022 Trek Roscoe Comparison video, but in my opinion the Roscoe 6 is not worth the price

Yeah that weight difference is most likely due to differences in manufacturing of the frames. Either that or maybe the scale isn’t as accurate as I thought it was but I did weigh each bike several times at the same weight. You’re right that it’s strange

You can cut them to size right! But I find a wider bar better when standing… obviously sitting down on a bike it would be ideal to go for more road/xc dimensions
