I noticed that I like my hair more with less heavy product on it. The wash and go I'm rocking now is just leave in conditioner. I liked it, but I might add a sealing oil (I'm thinking about using castor oil). I also like curl la la, a setting foam, or a styling creme.

Creams always end up weighing my hair down but not defining enough when I try to use them only. It’s weird. lol But I’m gone fine one I like specifically for this purpose! ❤️

This was the kind of wash n go that made me stay away from them for years. I couldn't stand the dryness and tangles. Now that I know how to keep my hair looking good and healthy I love wash n gos.

silverphoenix202 Try and stay away from snooty loose type gels that have glycerin in them also use leave ins that are glycerine free high porosity hair can’t take that heavy humectant!!!! Hard hold gels like Wetline Extreme need the glycerine to keep the gel cast pliable. If you must use a loose glycerine containing gel use only a small amt and cover with Wetline Extreme... why 2 gels... you get the super slip and moisture of the loose gel and the hold from Wetline but the hold is softer but more moisturized and defined!

I'm so glad you posted a new one. I need some cheering up cousins😥 I went and got my ends trimmed. All the length I grew is now GONE IN THE TRASH. I asked that heffa to TRIM my ends. I never asked for a haircut. I know it will grow back, but it took 9 months for my hair to grow past my shoulders. It's like I'm back at square one. *I love how your wash and go's turn out. First off, your hair is bomb! I love it. I have type 4 hair and my shrinkage is disrespectful! My shrinkage have me looking like I'm rocking a fade. 😂😂. Since I have the time off from work, I've.been playing around with hair products. I don't use silicones unless they are water soluble. I use the Sally beauty brand of the conditioner. I may try a heavy leave in conditioner I have but I know it has hard silicones in it and I may use a mousse instead of gel. Wetline is bae and I always one more in my cabinet for backup. But heavy gels works best for weighing my curls down. Those light gels like Aussie and herbal essence gels don't have weight and most of the times those light gels leave a white cast on my hair after it dries cause i use more of it cause it feels like water when applied. Girl I'm sitting here with a bottle of Camille rose gel and still can't get it to act right. My hair be soaking wet when I apply it but I still see a gray cast when it dries. Maybe Camille ain't for your cousin. 😂😂

sis I totally feel you regarding type 4 hair and shrinkage... my hair type is 4a/b normal/high porosity and sis the shrinkage is so real its crazy lol! I have to say when it comes to wash 'n gos I haven't yet mastered the low maintenance style... but I'm not sure if its because of my application or the products I've cocktailed but I'll figure it out. I've been natural for almost 2yrs so I'm still a baby on this natural hair journey :-)

Your hair looks cute either in the Realistic wgn or the Gelled wng! I like wearing my hair in my "Realistic" Wash and Go from time to time especially during the summer. As long as I wet and restyle every other day its good and I don't get breakage and knots. It's only when I don't do the restyling that I run into problems. If I skip the every other day routine then sadly...... the shears must come out!😂 🤣😂 🤣

Thank you! One thing about my hair that may be true for you as well... it shrinks super easy with no gel... but it stretches a lot easier too! I’m on day 3 hair now and I noticed just doing a semi “tight” high pineapple while I wash my face or do my makeup helps stretch it back out a bit. I think since there’s no gel to fight the pull it cooperates a lot quicker lol

I agree with 💯 I don't think anyone should just do this on a regular basis, well at least those of us with low porosity thick kinky/curly hair. It definitely sucks out the moisture much more and causes our hair to matte and tangle more. However natural hair is so beautiful in it's natural state😍I just love how versatile our hair is😊

I always do my twa like this. If I dont put anything else in my hair I put in an oil bc I feel like hair regardless of texture and porosity should naturally have a coating of oil thats why the scalp secretes sebum, but everything else is extra.

I'm glad that you used a leave in. Every time that I watch one of the videos without any product, I'm like.. "Oh hell to the naw". I think that is detrimental to the hair. I think that everyone trying this style should at least use a leave in. The whole idea of this is to see the texture of the hair without defining the curls, not having Sahara dry desert hair lol. But I agree with you on why you don't rock the fro. I have the same reasons. It requires daily manipulation of your hair to keep it that way. It also gets single strand knots and breakage more easily. It is definitely not because I don't like it. I love my curls defined and undefined. Defined curls with a styler is better for the hair in my opinion. I loved your final look. It was soo cute!

It’s funny u said you were sitting under the dryer for 30 mins. That’s my go to time too for whatever. Sit under the dryer for 30 mins to make sure my hair dry the next day.
