I'm excited I'm going to order one next Monday on batch 2 and pray they fix these issues and I get good QC, I have a SL-12 Tenz M which is my favorite mouse, and I am also refurbishing it with the kit from Meowmouse because my left click died (kind of an important part of the mouse). So if the ULX isn't for me I will still have my starlight.

That flex is shocking. It's a real shame they didn't stick with the magnesium because the starlight 12 is SOLID and still just as light, I can push down on mine hard and it literally doesn't move at all. I'm guessing the material is just too hard to work with for mass production. Really hope they bring it back for a special edition or something, I'd pay extra for it

"just as light" while the medium starlight weighs 46g and the ultralightx medium weighs 37g (the ultralightx medium is even bigger in shape) The ultralight was also developed for fingertip and clawgrip. I have no idea which finger grip user would press their mouse like that to notice the flex and you should keep your mouse as relaxed as possible for the best aim. Imo the mouse is just crushing the competition
@aeisbaer8042 Жыл бұрын
MgAl is just not that great for mice. Finalmouse had huge problems with consistent click tensioning and build quality QC. Even Razer had QC problems with their MgAl mouse, which is btw 115€ more expensive in Europe. Yes, metal is more rigid then the Carbon composite that they use rn, but the flex is literally not noticeable in game and while you use the mouse. Not even speaking about the fact that the ULX is about 10g lighter than the Starlight.

So I‘d like to adress some of your points. Grip tape: It’s thin and will wear quick: well they kept it thin because of the weight. All grip tapes wear out, this is normal. And there are already grip tapes for the dtarlight 12 from third parties, just buy those. The feel, well we are pushing what’s possible, the price you are paying is not for a „premium“ product, but the marvel of engineering. Getting to sub 40g is very impressive, yes going from 80 to 60 is ok, but the challenge is the lower you get… The build quality of the back part seems sketchy I know. But look, everyone told me when I bought my starlight 12, oh the scrollwheel will break, the buttons have side to side play. It has terrible QC it will break, yet mine is still alive. A Zeus Medium. Is it overpriced, yeah probably. Will the enthusiast still buy it, definitely. Man people spend their money on other stuff, my friend bought a Model locomotive for 2000 dollars the size of this mouse.

All valid, I don’t hate finalmouse they have clearly changed the game and they have achieved amazing feats. I’m all for a lighter mice and understand the love people have for “lighter the better”, but this mouse is creaking with the touch of a finger, and the back is lifting off of the bottom. I have higher hopes for future batches of these mice, as the problem most likely resides with the factory that is producing/assembling these shells. I own a ton of FM dating back to the beginning, I’m still a fan of the company and will be looking forward to future FM drops. I appreciate your insight, thx for checking out the vid!
@010falcon Жыл бұрын
@@QGinHQ yeah let's hope the creaking gets fixed. Again I think RJN said this was negligible, but it is a problem. Yet again one should consider what really matters, not small details that you won't notice, I mean look at the DPI button, you change the DPI once, then never again, so why have it. Oh, one more think. Why does it feel cheap, I thought about it. Let's look at another story, iPhone 4 vs competitior. They had a all metall, heavy design. Heft gives you the feeling of "premium". So that's maybe a part of the reason why it feels sooo cheap. But that's just speculating now.

I appreciate the honesty of your review and not giving into the clout chasing of ripping on it/loving it to death while ignoring problems. I just purchased one, and I hope it doesn’t have any problems, but I’m prepared to order another/RMA if needed. Knowing what you know now, would you still order or just wait for something else, and if so, what mouse would you wait for?
@QGinHQ Жыл бұрын
I mean it still performs well as of right now, mine could be worse than others. The price point for how fragile this shell feels id have to skip it. @eleesium8407 Жыл бұрын
@@QGinHQ Yeah, I think it's just bad production and perhaps even the material's qualities when producing it. Some are saying it's rock solid and they show them genuinely squeezing and only showing the palm area as being squishy. But then some people are showing it being fragile, or some areas are fragile and some are rock solid. One had it where nothing was squishy/flexible and even had M1 & M2 moveable. It's obvious there's poor production quality here.

Tbh, the flex isn't a big deal. People who press their mouse hard enough to flex it, need to be working in other aiming skills before looking at spending $150+ on an ultra lightweight mouse. When you fingertip, you barely apply any pressure, and that's the grip this mouse is designed for. Work on proper mouse control before going down the rabbit hole of buying expensive mice. No need at all to grip hard as that tires your hand/wrist/arm causing inconsistent aim.
@FishFPS Жыл бұрын
The flex on my mouse is already becoming a problem (after about 20 hours of use). The sides noticeably creek without putting ANY pressure on them, just during normal use. I don't expect this mouse to be very durable. People have laughed at me for this -- But I'll keep saying it. This mouse DOES NOT FEEL LIKE IT'S MADE OF METAL. Carbon fiber shouldn't flex like this. It feels like cheap plastic. Probably going to pick up a Razer Viper Mini SE, when it goes on sale this Saturday.

...flex does not equal "easy to break", it's probably the opposite. They never stated the (M) Lion was 29 grams, 29S 34M 38L, I think. The Price I would say is in line with, what is on the market right now (50+gram Chinese mice or less feature rich mice for 90-120€), even though I don't believe in all these fancy new features like ultra low weight, 8k pooling and optical switches, so I got a 50€ darmoshark m3s instead.
@Casevil669 Жыл бұрын
Carbon fiber composites are much more durable against expanding than they are against compression, so in this case it's definitely not 'the opposite'. Flexing inward will cause micro-cracks in structure which will definitely lead to noticeable wear over time if you happen to grip / use the mouse in a way that flexes the structure.

You were lucky enough to get the 1% rarest weight Finalmouse, and yet you still complain about the price. Buddy, the Finalmouse wasn't meant for the ordinary consumer, it was meant for esports players who need the edge or wealthy collectors. The average consumer is not Finalmouse's target demographic. You can always buy a Razer Deathadder V3 wired if you are a lower to middle class American. No one is stopping people from buying a cheaper mouse, but I find it odd that you will use a high price as a negative, when in reality, the high price is because of its exceptional 8khz polling rate, industry leading sensor implementation, and ultralight weight and #1 wireless mouse in terms of weight. Furthermore, it is lighter AND significantly cheaper than Razer's Viper Mini SE, but I don't see you complaining about that one. And who are you to talk about price? You're a grown man with so many expensive toys around your room. You shouldn't be complaining about price, of all people.
@QGinHQ Жыл бұрын
My mouse is literally splitting in two. I’m talking about price for the average consumer, you think I have an issue with 189 dollars? I don’t struggle with money, as you can see by the “toys” around me. I haven’t used the Viper mini, so why would I speak on it? I own 90% of FinalMouse products. Most releases dating back to day one, and I can prove it. 8k wired is great that’s apart of the reason I said this mouse still performs well. I review tech, and I influence people on what to purchase. If you think a mouse that costs 189 dollars that shows up almost falling apart and squeaking is an industry leading product, you’re just wrong. This mouse isn’t meant for a certain demographic, it’s meant to be in stock at all times for everyone, meaning the average gamer to the pro.
