Our so called leaders are fighting for this because they don't feel the weight of this bill. They cannot because the government wants their housing model customized from the ground up to secure accountability. It's deeper than that. It's one of their strategies to realize the manifesto. In power, you ought to be shrewd to ensure control because just because you are in power doesn't mean you get it easy to rule. It's how you shrewdly navigate through resistance to make your statement. It is especially more difficult to rule in democratic systems. ( I observed this perspective from the "Roman Empire series" accounting for the different types of power personalities ) It's an interesting series you can add to your watch list and enjoy the stories while learning power dynamics

Even in europe there are goverment housing bill. But nobody is being reducted. The goverment buld the houses after that they rent it to those who hv low incame at affordable price. And they pay rent to the goverment🎉. I hope this housing scheme will not turn out to be a land-grabbing scheme by the so-called investors who could actually be politicians. They are supposed to get the land for free from the government. Will the land remain the property of the state after the off-take by the government?. The investor might decide to continue renting the houses instead of selling them off.

For your info some of the people passionately supporting the fund are contractors. What will happen is that they will gain through construction and eventually the government will have so many houses that it cannot sell to the poor as they cant afford it, thereby renting at throw away rates and eventually the government will not be able to make profit and return the money.
