Yup. It can take some time. But credit cards can be hell if you don’t use it right.

I was saddened a few weeks ago when I had to close my oldest credit card-the card I started my credit with when I turned 18. They started charging an annual fee but it was a card I no longer used and had no benefits. Their logic for starting the annual fee was cause they were starting a rewards program but it was nowhere near as good as the one I already have with my Barclay's card. I wasn't about to start paying for a card I'm never going to use so I closed it. End of an era... Only dropped my score like 3 points and im in the high 700s so it's all good 😁

You will actually be surprised even if you have a low 600 score the bank will still approve you, but best believe it will be a high interest rate lol. Bank wants their money lol

You’re incorrect on paying additional on a credit card. If you make your monthly minimum payment and the next cycle has not started, you can apply an extra amount to the principal alone if you want. Debt consolidation is obviously a better route which you mentioned. Just an fyi
