Great information! I’m so happy you touched on estate planning (will, probate, Trust, etc). Me and hubby are planning our exodUS this year and we approached a US estate lawyer about this very thing! We want to purchase a home abroad and we have 3 minors. Thankfully the estate lawyer covers international legal matters and she expressed it is best to have a consultation with an estate lawyer in the country where you will live so they can discuss laws abroad and the best options for us so there are no problems (or as minimal as possible) in the event me and hubby both pass while abroad.

Great information overall. Certainly has me preparing for things I didn't rhink about, including telling my daughter to do what you did...burn me where I am, put them ashes in her carry on, and spend the money I left for her! Agreed! 😅

you are absolutely right...this is an important conversation - i'm going through this realization right now, although i do work online, so i'm able to live off of what i make however, i know that i need to save more to be able to sustain my lifestyle without going through my savings...

This video is a saver! Another consideration: what the value of the dollar will be in 2-5 years. The SA Rand may be 1/16 now, but it could be 1/10 in 2 years; that will make a HUGE difference in a monthly retirement budget. Also, I heard that if you don't pay student loans, it could be taken out of your Social Security. Not sure how true that is. Greetings from Mérida. I am living on my social security here. I have a huge student loan debt. Its a parent plus loan. At 24:00 minutes in you spoke about zero income as income based income. I am not earning anything other than my pension and social security. Can I use this strategy?

I'm not sure if parent plus loans are eligible for income based/driven repayment. You should be able to find that out at www.studentaid.gov
