Using the column method i am stuck as to how to work out the next years depreciation. Do i take 15% of the orignal value and deduct that again or do i need to find 15% of the new value (after a year) and deduct that?

Car depreciates at a fixed amount each year from its initial balance (e.g. Straight Line depreciation). It's simple interest, not compounded interest.

well according to the question the value of car depreciate annually 15% so in 5 years it will depreciate 75% so the value of the car will be 6250$ how it's value is 11092.63 after 5 years I am confused.

The was that it’s written, the value depreciates 15% EVERY year. So after the first year it loses 15%, which makes it worth $21,250. After another year, it takes 15% of the value (which is now 21,250 not 25000), so you now get 18,062. It’s not a linear graph, so you can’t just multiply 5x15 and be done with it. You have to do it in steps. It’s the same way interest works. You get a percent amount added every year of how much money you have in the bank. Every year you get more money from that, so you make more money off interest, which then repeats itself.
