What did happen to that Worcester boiler, last episode we did a breakdown on a Worcester junior and left it up to the customer if they wanted to go ahead with the repair or replace. In this weeks episode we will show you what happened and more importantly go through some comments to see what you thought should be done

Hi Luke Just wondering if you might consider showing non engineers the amount of time it takes to complete safety checks/gas rating etc. I accept it may be boring part to view but it would give subscribers a better understanding of cost. 30 years since boilers were fitted and engineers just walk away. Keep your brilliant work up. Fabulous viewing

My ideal Stelrad was fitted 1992. Still perfect and runs like a dream. Never needed one repair. I dread the day it breaks down and I have to have it replaced.The new boilers are tripe. They’re creating more environmental damage manufacturing them and replacing than having an old one using slightly more gas.

Yes mate great point new boilers last 10-15 years if there decent nowadays not built to last like they used to

Lol cheers for the shout out mate. I do get peoples ideas to replace and the question you ask to customers, is the exact same i ask them. Is this your forever home? Also, top tip i can give on any worcester, to stop the return or flow manifold springing a leak, put a pressure reducing valve on the cold mains and set to 2 bar. Will never pinhole lol. Keep up the great work 👍

Made the right decision to change the boiler 6 weeks or so what else can pack up you just can't say you was very professional great work as usual.

Thanks mate, I’ve got one very similar where I’ve replace fan, leaking condensate trap, electrodes, red seal and flow elbow, told him to start looking at new one December, called me up about hour ago, LH manifold split 😩 sometimes is better just to cut your loses and replace

Nice one. I had a similar one recently but it was actually worse in a worse state than that one. I said to customer it was best to replace it or get Worcester to repair it. He booked a repair but when Worcester came out they refused to repair it, said it was too far gone, so now I'm going back to replace it after all.

Yeah sometimes even the manufacture will say BER if it’s a stupid amount of parts to replace or condition too poor, least they agree time for new boiler 👍

great movie again mate, i swapped a worcester fan pcb ONCE, new years eve a cpl of years ago, condensate blocked, boiler filled up and blew the fan!! I went out at lunch time on new years eve, couldnt get a fan until the new year, one localish place did the refurbed fan pcb so I offered it to the customer as the only alternative to getting heat over the new year period, they jumped at it, not surprised really cus it was bloody cold and they had to wait about 5 days for a new fan, I drove into London to pick it up, retured and fitted it, boiler worked fine for 24hrs then broke down again! a few days later when everything had opened up I went and picked up a new fan and fitted it, boilers been problem free ever since, what I got from that job was that the customer wasnt happy although I did everything I could to help them, they ended paying me twice and I got a load of agro over the new year because of it so for me, I just dont do the refurbed parts, its genuine boiler parts or find someone else to fix it :)

That’s another reason I don’t like refurbs, can bite you in the arse if they fail, unlucky for you thou, trying to do the best for customer but lesson learnt I suppose, well done for going above and beyond mate, not many would go to that length to help someone out on new years eve

Just dragged a Greenstar 28 off the wall today for my mate 13 years old heat exchanger rippling leaks everywhere just not worth rebuilding good vid mate.

Why didn't you put your magnaclense on the old boiler and flush before you fitted the new boiler?

Wasn’t really worries about much muck going into boiler, them magnets would of stopped anything to be honest, if the water quality was poor I would of have done

if cost goes over the one time repair from the manufacture then I give them that option

I am doing my gas at the moment do u check the pipe size before the swap as the previous engineer might not have checked ?😊

You will know if you did the right thing if you get a phone call in 12 months for the service. 10 year warranty x £80 💪🏻

Worcester boilers are rubbish! had one only a few years old that sprang a leak twice causing flooding, switched to Vaillant with no further problems.

Don’t like valliants myself to be honest, see too many leaks on them, maybe new one might be different hopefully, still a decent boiler just not for me, would fit one of customer wanted one still 👍

On the 4000 has digital display for pressure but interval gauge when you are working on it or have power off
