I HATE It When Customers Use These!! Day In The Life Of A Jobbing Plumber

Day in the life of a jobbing plumber and we have 3 plumbing jobs this week with some plumbing hints and tips thrown in there. We have a pop up waste with very awkward access to contend with, a toilet that looks like a smurfs swimming pool and a pump which is right at the back of behind all the pipework which is always fun! We have tried a new angle on this one with a chest cam so you can see me working with both hands, let me know if you want to see more of these

Nice work, its interesting to watch as a plumber from new Zealand.. the boiler units look complex. we only use hot water cylinders and gas califonts over here.

Just thought I would add recently had water inspection in retirement home had to fit air gap bottom fill valve . or double check valve on cold feed to cistern inspector pointed out she was called to property where woman complained of blue water coming out of taps problem was tracked back to wc cistern with blue loo in it what do you think

Will be a bottom fill fill valve fitted so chance of water contamination, always go for WRAS approved 👍

The problem if the toilet it’s feed from the mains water that’s a classed as fluid category 5 because water is filled from the bottom of that valve and when it shuts it has a back pressure slightly which pushes water back into mains and gets contaminated, hopefully you enjoying brushing your tooth and rinse your mouth with it 😅, because is not a part 2 ball cock filling valve , if it’s feed from gravity system that’s fine .

You need a really big flat head to do that screw, but if you have a fifty pence piece it fits perfectly, that is what I have used before.

I've got a tip for you, next time you get those fittings with the two notches, use a 2p coin ;) edit : or a 50p, obviously you charge more than me 🤣 Just think , while on your family break, of all those heating systems that refuse to start up in October🙂

If have to change a syphon on a toilet and there is blue blocks in there, I tell the customer they rot the plastic diaphragm in the syphon, they believe me , I say I will be back in 12 months redoing it, no blue blocks anymore

Ever thought of diversifying? Oh, I dunno. Maybe, Le Cirque du Soleil? Contortionists are in short supply. If customer accidentally stands on that pop up plug, whilst showering, you know that it'll damage the pop up lever arm mechanism. I'm getting tired or telling people, I told you so!

That's a deep trap. Would have been easier to swap out with a shallow trap. I follow your channel because I like your attitude. Can't stand the "I've been doing this for 27 years and never had a problem with silicone" attitude. I don't think that was a DIY install, just a bad plumber install.

I absolutely hate when these tradesmen try to do a video with 1 hand, it makes my blood boil because it makes it look 10 times harder than it really is. Shout out to the chest cam. Everyone knows that "we in the trade " use both hands to do an efficient job. There are thousands of youngsters doing KZbin videos making out like a simple job is taking forever, but if they put the fone down for a minute they would realise that the job took less time. Then they wouldn't charge the poor customer for extra hours fo no reason.
