The concept of Super Sonic was made before Super Saiyan released, but the design is a direct reference to it as Yuji Naka was a HUGE Dragon Ball fan, the new chapter of Dragon Ball introduced the fans to Super Saiyan, but as Sonic 1 was in pretty late development at the time, he knew he just had to wait and include it in the next game! (if it did well). He saw and took an opportunity to reference and take heavy inspiration from the series he loved through the Super Saiyan transformation. Later on even added the iconic green Super Saiyan eyes to Super Sonic in Sonic 3! I don't have a direct source from this, simply because I knew about this for a long time, probably my favorite game/series fact! I absolutely LOVEEE both Dragon Ball and Sonic, I know a lot about these respective series with no bias towards one side or another as I grew up with both at the same time. I know there are probably more details, but if you want to know more I am sure there are resources online! I am not trying to like disprove, argue, or anything similar to that. I am just so fascinated how my two favorite series are connected in such a manor, it's cool, really cool! "We won't back down" Everyone is tired, literally they can't keep going pyshically but their willpower is stronger. "I'm here to go beyond my limit not to compromise" Goku and Frieza are clearly not in the state to fight, yet they're literally going all out even more than before to fight the weakened Jiren. "You can try to stand in my path but you're gonna regret it" (The entiere part until "Will the world know your name") represents how Jiren seems unstoppable not only for the others and from himself. "Will the whole world know your name?" Goku putting some respect on his name thanks to literally being the one to fight the strongest in the each of the universes. While also making the GoDs fear him. "When we dance with destiny" The fight is literally about their destiny of the universes, they lose, they're dead forever. "Your find your flame" Finding a reason to actually fight against each other.

Ya know if Jiren had a bit more of an interesting backstory this might have been my favorite arc, the idea that Goku and Freeza trusting each other let alone working together even though they are extremely far from being friends would be a shock to Jirens system and not just that but everyone else on Universe 7s team as well, each of them has each others backs and that's a pretty sweet theme if basic

@@icetrey8662 it's not the fact that he doesn't have an interesting backstory but that it's so bare bones and bland which I guess kinds fits Jiren that it might as well not be there at all and yes there are very minor moments where he shows some emotion in battle namely when he smiled after getting hit by both Goku and Freeza showing that he was finally enjoying himself and I feel like most of his ideals are shown through his words like when Gokus body broke down and Jiren said he would remember him, clearly Goku had an impact on him and I get the feeling that Jiren knew when he blasted Universe 7s stand that Goku would deflect it, thing is if he really was meant to be just a meat head they shouldn't have bothered with any kind backstory at all just some cool lines, a better example would be Urizen from DMC5 and Toyotaro went through the trouble of giving him some sort of backstory, bland as it may be it still makes me sympathize for him and want him to learn what trust and friendship can mean, given all the small little showcases of personality throughout the tournament he was not meant to be the typical 80s action hero but a more developed character who hopefully doesn't get shafted

You even compared him to Jotaru, an actual evolution of 80's "man of action" main characters. Of course Jiren would of been more fleshed out after 50 episodes. Chicken noodle soup would be more fleshed out after that many. I'm talking about what we see. I don't think it's that deep. Jiren had a role and he played it perfectly. I know people wanted more but with the TOP, it was like 12 different universes. Hundreds of characters, I really don't care to see the deep lore. I was just trying to see some fights. here's how I would list that top 10 I mentioned. 1. Goku and Frieza Tag Team Jiren from DBS- it's common knowledge that Goku and Frieza can't go five seconds without being at each others throats so during the final moments of the Tournament of Power it threw both the spectators that know both Goku and Frieza and the viewers for a loop that to defeat Jiren they decided to tag team him and prove that if they could set aside their differences for even a moment they could be an unbeatable tag team. 2. Vegeta teaches Cabba how to go Super Saiyan from DBS- it's common knowledge Vegeta learned Super Saiyan through wounded pride at the fact that Goku achieved it first but unexpectedly while the Universe 6 vs Universe 7 tournament is happening he teaches Cabba how to go Super Saiyan but in the same way Goku would and that's rage at the thought of losing his friends and family. 3. Kale is revealed to be a Legendary Super Saiyan like Broly is- oh sure Broly may be the og Legendary Super Saiyan but finding out even he has a Universe 6 counterpart but female at the same time was a bit unexpected. 4. Kid Trunks becomes Mai's boyfriend from DBS- everyone knows Kid Trunks isn't the avenging saint his future self is but hitting it off with Mai who may appear to be his age when he meets her but is probably mentally in her 40's or 50's due to being in her 20's when Goku met her was an unexpected development. 5. Krillin grows his hair out from DBZ- for almost all of DBZ Krillin has his Iconic monk look but at the start of the Majin Buu Saga it reveals he grew his hair out. 6. Frieza acts like a team player from Dragon Ball Super- from DBZ to now it's obvious Frieza isn't a team player but in the Tournament of Power he not only eliminates opponents that get in his way but he also saves Goku from elimination a few times but also shares his energy with Goku. 7. Goku spares Frieza from DBZ- Personally if I were in Goku's shoes I would have outright killed Frieza without hesitation for killing Krillin but we all know Goku isn't the smartest horse of the herd so he at the time spared Frieza which nearly got him killed due to Frieza being a sore loser. 8.
