Adam and Jane: I met and married my Filipina right before I found your KZbin Channel, but your channel has truly touched me with your gentle and yet direct messages about your life in Ormoc, about your daughter Isabella, and about the lives you've made for yourselves. We (My wife and I) are on a different journey because we both met later in life (I am a 56 year old American, and she is a 50 year Old - she doesn't mind me saying that, thankfully). I think that foreigners (westerners or otherwise) who find and meet a traditional Filipina will almost call it a cliche' that Filipinas are traditional, loving, caring, deeply compassionate women who see things such as providing a delicious and nutritious meal, taking care of the home, desiring to garden, and being reserved as a natural part of who they are. It (ALMOST) sounds like a cliche' because it is so common, but there is nothing cliche' about how amazing and life-changing my wife is. I will say that the foreigner needs to have a basis of loving kindness and a desire for tradition for it to work, even IF they are jaded or directionless when they meet the Filipina - because yes, A traditional Filipina will profoundly change a foreign Man for the better, and if those qualities are embraced and returned there can be no more beautiful a relationship. P.S. - because my wife is Waray and from Leyte, we are both deeply interested in retiring in the Ormoc area or at the least in Western Leyte when I am able to retire (7 years or so). So watch out!!! Hahaha

But I am really thrilled that you have found the woman in Jane that I thought I had found in XXX. In the early years, people told my parents: "Paul is really blooming since he got married". And indeed, she was my everything, but noone can keep on her mask forever! When it fell off, my world collapsed and my future relationships will never be the same. I have cone across.other guys like you married to Filipinas. Their main asset is they are more family-oriented, especially those raised in the countryside where they lived simple lives. Even if they did not to go the best schools, they are still raised very well because they are taught to be humble, hard-working and patient. I love my wife. While visiting Bohol on vacation, a girl kept glowing up red around what I assumed was her mother. Her mother, or sister, came over and said, "that's my sister. I know this has probably happened to you before, but my sister is actually a good girl who just finished her college for teacher and wants to be a nun. I don't want her to be nun, but she is on her leave from seminary, and on vacation to see me, and this is my last chance to fix it. And she has the eye for you for some reason." I spoke to her and sister invited me home to meet mama and papa. They fed me supper that night. Offered me a spot to sleep on the living room floor. I was scared to death. Being American, I was thinking "Wrong Turn," or worse. I probably fell asleep at 4 as everyone was waking up. I woke up at 7. Sister's husband took me out into his rice farm and showed me around. It was really for Papa, kuya, and him to ask me all those hard questions to make sure I really wasn't a psycho. We went back and ate breakfast together, laughed and cut up. They offered me a chance to take a bath at the well pump. I declined that, not being ready for it, so two adult female cousins asked me to escort them to down the road to the store. That turned out to be another test to see if I would flirt or be improper toward them. I wasn't. But it was also so the other women could get their baths done. I returned, talked to her for half the morning, and asked her if she wanted to go to the mall. She told me I had to ask her parents. If they said, yes, she would be delighted, but if they said, no, then she prayed that I understood. It felt weird with her being 13 years younger than me, but she was adult. I asked her father if she could go with me to the mall. He looked at mama. I could see in his face he wanted to say, no. This is my baby. My youngest girl. You can't have her. But he looked up at me and said, "She is hard and stubborn like a boy. My baby is like tiger, fierce, but she is smart. She is God-fearing. She is a woman. She can make her own decision and I support (her) decision. If she choose to go with you, then what can I say against her free will? But I ask you don't hit her, don't let her get hurt with words or violence, and when you are tired of her you bring her home to me like a man." I mean how do you react to that? That was the purest expression of a love of a father I had ever seen. However, I thought he was just talking about that day. He meant for the rest of my life. We married two years later. I took my time. I never pressured her. I never asked her to give herself to me until our wedding night. I did it the right way, as hard as it was, often fighting against our hormones. She's been so loyal and so faithful. Papa wasn't lying. She is fierce. I know that she would lay her life down for our children without a thought. She doesn't have to say it. Her actions scream for her. Our relationship is different from any relationship I've had as an adult. She encourages to be a better person. To be happy, upbeat, positive about life. When I am sick, she's in the bed with me holding me like I'm our child, fanning me, wiping the sweat off of me, forcing the pag-umangkins to find me whatever I am needing, sick or not. We aren't rich. I don't earn a lot of money. I provide what I can to the family if we have it like any Filipino man does, but nothing is required of me. And in return for her love I do the same for her. I love her. I remind her she is beautiful. I make sure her needs are met. I try to do something small everyday to show my appreciation. She works because she wants to give back to the Filipino people, but she doesn't have to work. We are often inseparable and you'll usually find us laying on one of another's laps on papa's porch. My western friends believe that I control and force her to be a slave, so I gave all of them up because they can never understand true love and her selflessness. I don't require her to do anything. We do what we do because we love each other. We have our tampo times and small disagreements, but they are few. They are usually followed up her quest to obtain 13 children.

I knew many Filipinos at our church, but I was married to a wonderful American woman, but she passed away from cancer. I dated a woman from other countries, but I figured my married days were over . I was already in my late 60s. Then, I received a message online from a woman on the 30th person I didn't accept it. But she was persistent, and she was great, and I agree Filipinas are wonderful. My family thought I was crazy going to the Philippines when there were plenty available in America. While I've was on a dating site in America, I didn't have much success. But while we weren't on a dating site when we met. It's not a bad place to start.

I met my husband here in new York with the baby sitter. He used to be married to another Filipina with 4 kids and I was married before with a Filipino guy with one boy. In short both of our exes went left turn and we just met in the babysitter and now we just had 25 years wedding anniversary with two boys my husband is Irish, Russian, California blood. Before we met we were both from California he is from Fremont California and I am from Los Angeles. And we both end here in New York because of our exes. Thanks to them. I think it’s called destiny.

I moved to Weston soon after you moved, but I regularly go past your old place, I do like going to the car boot sale there. I have bought a plot of land in the Philippines, even though I would love to do what you have done, I can’t see myself going there until I retire as I need to work to support my family( and my Filipina wife’s family too😮)

I meet my girlfriend on a dating site back in 2017 and have been there 4 times, 2020 and 2021 was really hard because I could not go there to visit her for 2 whole years was there again in 2022, she has been married so we needed to get her an annulment and it was final this January 2023 so we applied. for a tourist visa for her to come visit me in my country. Her visa was denied because danish immigration don't she us as a couple for some stupid reasons, so now I plan on moving there for a year or so. My girlfriend has all the good traits of a traditional woman loving caring and family oriented

My first wife was a Filipina married 15yrs. Got unfortunately divorced I moved back to UK from US and she stayed here. My 2nd wife is a Filipina now married 16 years! I moved back to Florida with her and our 2 children. So 2 Filipina wives! I am very happy now but it’s not all roses. Filipinas have a strong temper and that’s what killed my first marriage. They also have something called ‘tampo’ where they literally blank you out for hours, days even weeks! I am not kidding! It’s a bad trait and they are SO jealous. My friends Filipina wife cut up all his best suits just because he wanted to go to a friends wedding and she didn’t want to go. He divorced her. They are everything Adam says and are very loyal, great cooks and look after you. Remember though a word of warning. You marry the family when you marry them literally. Unless they are wealthy you or your wife (if she’s working) will be regularly sending money back home to help the family. Mostly good but these days they tend to blow the money on phones, gadgets and ‘stuff’ instead of schooling and ‘medical bills’. Not all but just be warned in my 31 years of marriage I’ve seen it all from myself and many many guys I know who were or are married to them. They are really lovely women and very enticing. Honestly they are the safest bet amongst all Nationalities not least because of their faith and tradition of ‘staying married’ you have to work hard at your marriage to them like any other. And most of them WANT kids! So be upfront EARLY if you don’t! This will ruin you relationship if she has regrets over not having kids.

I’ve been married twice to a Filipino. The first was the love of my life. It didn’t matter she already had kids and was a little older than me. We were married for about 4 yrs when she died in a car accident on her way home from work. The second one I made the mistake of marrying too quick and she had already been polluted by the U.S. when I met her. Turns out she was a compulsive gambler, was already divorced, lied and cheated to get into the U.S. It took me almost 10 yrs to get out of her web. Had a daughter with her and she wants nothing to do with me. Also messed me up financially stealing money from me to gamble. Long story short, I should have taken my time and gone directly back to the Philippines and found a wife there and stayed there.
