Very good match! There were not many players who were able to challenge Lin Dan like this when he was this young. 👍

This video from the previous channel didn't show many points from Park, which made people actually thought Lin has full control. This one however displays that Park really rivals Lin.

Also this match occurred before the China Open the same year, which happened to see Lin played against Park once again. The Chinese team really showed their level by letting Lin Dan played really tactically and destroyed Park with the score of both sets under 11.

10:29 Incredible retrieval by LD. Very steep smashes from Park, but LD just keep getting them back. This is why players like LD can defend against Axelsen's smashes while most of players nowadays can't.

The Big Smash era is so annoying. LCW and Momota already proved it's a horrible strategy but once they retired or got hurt Axelsen went uncontested. Only won 10% of lifetime matches against people who demonstrated why Big Smash is poor singles badminton.

The only best men single ever produced by Korean. Not just Lin Dan, its too hard for Lee Chong Wei to beat this guy. His defenced on par with Chen Long.

Lee Hyun Il arguably greater but Park had some moments of absolute brilliance.

Momotas form has similarities with Lin Dan. Similar movement.

@@therealoxcooper4616if anythin I think their forms and movement are opposites. Momota’s footwork in his prime was textbook and robotic. He used crab steps and hops/skips to move around and is more neutral. Centered around always keeping balance and low center of gravity. Lin Dan on the other hand ‘walked’, his movement couldn’t be teach and only works if you are Lin Dan and had his other skills (like extremely accurate anticipation). Their strokes are also very different. Momota again, is more robotic and neutral. Keeping it simple and very consistent to disguise. Lin Dan varied his strokes more, he could choose to be more armsy, more wristy(also, Lin Dan’s wrist is just completely out of this world) disguise it etc… Smash wise, Lin Dan used his whole body while mantaining extremely deceptive disguise. It is more explosive. Also, more variations and had his stick smash. Momota’s smashes were more accuracy oriented. His body was not as explosive as a result. It is also extremely well disguised but had less variations. In other words, Momota’s form and movement is earned through skill, I would say the pinnacle of movement in terms of what can be earned through training. Lin Dan’s form on the other hand was pure talent. Is one in a million because it was incredibly complex and deep. Everything also looked so natural and intuitive for him. Momota was a robot, the ideal that every player should learn from. Lin Dan was an anomaly who’s movement might never be replicated.

@@eclipse1161 this... Finally found someone who understand badminton very clearly.👍🏻 As a LCW fan even I must bow down and admit that Lin Dan is just wayy superior in badminton. Everything he did is just too phenomenal and unique in it's own ways. He's called Super Dan for a reason.
