Such amazing views, as always. I never feel more at peace than when I'm in the desert and seeing those wide open, expansive views. Thx for another great video!

After a lot of research into the cheapest high quality Awning, I purchased the OVS 270 LT Awning, and I absolutely love it. You can get it for either the driver or passenger side, and it wraps around the back of the vehicle giving a ton of great coverage from the sun and rain. It’s SUPER easy to set up/take down. The price is $500-$600 depending on whether you purchase it with the bracket kit. I have a Gobi rack, and the OVS brackets wouldn’t work with it, but I believe they would work just fine for your rack.

Good insights I’ll. Check it out. How’s the deploy time?
@rael6_4wd6 ай бұрын
@@BackroadExploration It literally takes a minute to deploy, and less than two minutes to put away. The bag fits the canopy perfectly, and I never have to force the zipper. The aluminum welded hinges are very good quality, and are super strong. It’s also free standing in light winds of up to 25 mph. (I’d be afraid to keep it out with winds that high though without staking it down) Staking it down is something I probably won’t often do. If it gets too windy, I’d rather put the awning away than risk it getting damaged. I think It’s one of the smarter purchases I’ve made for my build.

Certainly a lot of cool looking areas down there. Going to have to plan a trip down that way again sometime. Thanks for sharing! George.

Looks like you guys had fun. Did they make new national park recording rules or are they just pickier these days?
@BackroadExploration6 ай бұрын
They have been targeting people who film in parks who “monetize” content and charge them.
@steveegbert74296 ай бұрын
Yeah, they started stretching their own rules. It used to be no filming for commercial purposes to sell products or when you needed a crew and equipment unless you got a permit. They started nailing photographers who ever sold a photo. That went to court and got thrown out so they rewrote the rules.
@BackroadExploration6 ай бұрын
@steveegbert7429 I understand not wanting someone setting up a film crew in a NP without permits etc but solo filmers and photographers seems like overkill

@@BackroadExploration mmmmmm...govern me harder daddy. Just love government overreach don't you? 🤬 What a stupid rule and they are so ambiguous about it. Remind your viewers that a whole bunch of the Swell is going to be off limits because of hundreds and hundreds of miles of roads will be closed due to more gov't overreach. Unless we all get involved.
@BackroadExploration6 ай бұрын
@NigelNaughton I’ll be posting about the Swell a bunch over the next few weeks on IG and some shorts and possibly a dedicated video as well. We need as much public comment as we can get.
