Good Morning 🌅 to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Do you remember the last time I told you about my ‘LIFER’ on the only existing Long-tailed Shrike in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR ….? Well, yesterday morning on my walk in the hills, I saw that Long-tailed Shrike again in the dense bushes, again. But even better, I had yet another ‘LIFER’ - an Orange-headed Thrush on the same branch as the Long-tailed Shrike in the same thicket of bushes ! I was SO EXCITED 😆. The Orange-headed Thrush is common in the well-wooded areas of the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Most populations are resident. This species prefers shady damp areas, and like many Geokichila and Zoothera thrushes, can be quite secretive.

The Vermillions flycatchers were my favorite, and although the male was fantastical, I love the subtle colors on the females as well. Elegant coloring!

Those Vermilion Flycatchers are beautiful! We just birded in San Diego and had a wonderful time. We exceeded our goal by more than double, and it was so fun!

Another great video. I hit the west side of the park in the afternoon on my recent trip. I was hoping to find some of the exotic species, but didn’t have any luck. Next time I make it to California I will try the east side of the park in the morning.

It's such a big park, I definitely recommend the East side!

Wow great amount of species! Super unique ones too with the vermillion flycatcher, your hybrid duck, and townsend’s warbler. Seemed like a great great location

There were a lot of cool species! I was lucky to have Garrett there to show me all the specific spots to find stuff! The hybrid was a neat surprise for both of us!

Hello Brad. I am from the GTA in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. My favorite is the Vermillion fly catcher. I looked online & found a picture of the male. Absolutely beautiful. I think I saw one some time ago 1998 it came on the patio on a summer day . Stayed there for a few minutes.

Are you heading to Bolsa Chica for your next video? I used to live in Fountain Valley before I got into birding and I missed a great opportunity to see some great birds. I hope to visit sometime . I'm glad you got to go birding in your t-shirt and enjoy the warmth of southern Cali. It's freezing here in Utah, but I got to see Barrows Goldeneye yesterday. I wore heated wool socks from Costco and it was still cold.

We will see haha. I'll run a poll here on KZbin to see where people want me to go next! It's a lot warmer here for sure! Not missing the cold!
