Your videos are on par with the most well funded & high tech documentaries made for PBS or other networks! Truly outstanding! My wife and I bought our little slice of heaven (50 acres w/a mix of forest (conifer and hardwood), 2 ponds & about 15 acres in agriculture (mostly hayfield)) in the Finger Lakes region of NY last Spring and my goal is to enhance and create habitat like you have done. I've seen/heard 132 species of birds as well as deer, black bear (tracks & scat), coyote, fox, & fisher so far. So rewarding! Happy Holidays!

100% agree. I have never been particularly fascinated about what grows, walks and flies around various types of environments. But Stephano just made an 80 min video, not a minute was boring and I am left in awe about how much life there actually is on our planet, taking into account that this is only a fairly small place in the grand scheme of things.

I commented on the previous long vid in this series, and I'm happy and relieved to still be here to see this one. 2024 was one of the worst years my partner and I have ever had to weather- losing a good friend to sudden illness, another friend to an accident, and nearly losing both of my partner's parents to a stroke and appendicitis. Through one of the most nightmarish times in our lives, little things like keeping up with this video series have kept us afloat. I said it before and I'll say it again, it's beautiful to be able to watch someone do something this amazing. I'll never have the funds or means to bring an ecosystem to life like this, so to be able to experience it vicariously through someone who clearly cares a lot for the world around him is something truly special. I hope to be able to come back to this again next year, and the year after that, to see this little world thrive and transform. Thank you for all you do. It gives me that all-too-important little bit of hope that it's never too late to make a change for good. Hope to see you again next year.

It was around midnight right before I was going to bed when I saw this go up, but I knew I couldn’t wait until morning 💚 I’ve never lived anywhere with squirrels so this was how I found out they also eat mushrooms! Seems like an underutilized image in the cottagecore aesthetic 🍄 🐿️ I love getting these recaps bc even though I never miss a video, it’s wonderful to have a feature length film to wrap up the highlights and add some smaller moments that we haven’t seen yet. I love the little shuffle done by the bird in the middle-ish at around 10:43, so cute 🥰 It truly boggles my mind every time how you manage to get so much done! From scouting places to set up cameras, setting up the cameras and retrieving footage, then processing and editing all the footage, recording voice over, all on top of all the work you put into the land! Observing wildlife and working around it to improve the ecosystem through all the planting and weeding and cutting and digging and a million other -ings?? I realize that you do all that spread out over the whole year, while it takes me just under 1.5 hours to watch the results, but still, it’s truly impressive and enviable. I’ve been dealing with a lot of body pain from some injuries this year which makes the amount of physical labor involved even more unbelievable (and cool!) to me, and I’m so grateful for the comfort and wonder your videos bring me. Thank you x1 million as always and I hope you’re also taking time to rest and relax in between it all!

Great to see the various projects and ideas you're presenting. I have the luxury of being involved in the family homestead in northeast MN. We have 130 acres of various habitat types. No one lives on the property but I look to your videos for ideas that can be easily incorporated. Luckily I already have a good starting point. We did a logging project a few years ago to help support golden-winged warblers. We've also been systematically cutting back tag alder edges to help with regen and fostering more soft mast regrowth. It's a work in progress but we peck away here and there.

Your videos are such a joy! I had plans for this morning, but the notification changed them😂 I had a great-uncle who created a bird sanctuary on his land near portneuf (les jardins du merle bleue), and i always loved visiting when he was alive, but yours actually thinks of the whole ecosystems (even bats! 🥰) and it is a joy to watch native species thriving! I wish I had the means to do the same it sounds like a great place to live. A thing my uncle did was ask nearby horse farms for discarted horse hair and provide these for the bird. Apparently a sought after material for nesting birds (?). You might wanna try (although your land is so rich i don't think they need it.)

So beautiful...love your story and visuals. As a wildlife bio myself, I've only built habitat on my place of an acre or so, but lived near a lot of wild land so got to see large numbers of species. Managed state and federal lands for wildlife as a career on a large scale, but your improved 30 acres rivals anything I've seen . So admire your efforts. 🎉
