I don't have the Plus version, but I absolutely LOVE my A6! Been using it for a while with my Ronin-M and for handheld documentary shoots.

Love your videos and your style. I shoot most of my stuff with the Sony a7iii and ninja V and I agree with you. The ninja’s internal recording doesn’t make the biggest difference in quality and only triples the files size, which is frustrating because of the price. It’s a great monitor but I don’t feel like I’m using it to it’s fullest potential BUT I do think it’s a great investment for the future of my career and the future of Sony cameras coming soon. Gear is really only tools to make our job easier and I personally respect your wise decision. Keep up the great work man.

For sure! I reeeeaaaally wish Sony could open up 10 bit external. It would breathe new life into the camera, and really make a big difference 🤷🏼‍♂️ it sucks to have to choose between face detect af or triple the file size.

What about the Atomos Shinobi? You can pick it up for $269. Basically a Ninja without the recording.

Austin Black yeah this looks like a decent little monitor for the price. I just think the extra $40 is worth being able to see outside when needed. I’m trying to build a little cinema rig for my a7iii.

ROY CULVER III VISUALS totally agreed. When I get the FX9, I’m probably going to be looking at getting a nice small HD monitor. The frustrating part of all of this though is the limitations of the a7iii’s HDMI out.

Austin Black yeah it would be nice if they fixed that in a firmware update. I was looking at the smallhd monitors also. They focus 5 is on sale for $299 I think, but it’s only at 720p display and isn’t as bright (on paper). The focus 7 looks really nice but it’s over $600 and I’m not sure if it’s too big for a run and gun a7iii rig 🤷🏼‍♂️. Why does it always have to be so difficult?🤣

Cool vid man! I’m guessing if I wanted to use the touch focus function on my a6400 when plugged into the a6, it wouldn’t work I suppose? Keep up the great work

I'm trying to find a monitor that helps me with doing disc golf coverage with A7III and like you mentioned Andycine A6+ isn't bright enough. I didn't understand what was wrong with the Ninja V. You can't record internally when using it or?

Disc Golf Finland my biggest gripe was the file size without getting better quality on the a7iii. I think the shinobi would be the best option for what you’re describing!

I found out that proxy recording doesn't work when using HDMI and we don't have time to create proxies after the filming - the editing has to start instantly to stay in schedule. Also I didn't know that face detect AF doesn't work with HDMI when recording internally on Sony A7III. Going to return the monitors and keep on bending forward with my neck to see what's happening in the small A7III monitor :) By the way can you confirm this: A7III face detect AF won't work on Andycine A6 plus either?

When i turn on the andycine a6 monitor, my camera monitor goes off and does not come back on. Any idea why?

Hi can you help me. When I plug an external monitor into my Canon 90d, the camera monitor switches off, so I am unable to have them both operating at the same time. Can you suggest something to rectify this please. Michael.
