Andycine A6 Plus Monitor on Amazon (PAID LINK): geni.us/l1ZU
My Camera Guides: academy.dslrvi...
Gear I Use to Make Videos: dslrvideoshoot...
THE GOOD:
Touch screen functionality is great (pinch to zoom etc).
Assist features including false color, anamorphic, audio meters, focus peaking and more work very well.
Has HDMI IN and OUT as well as Power IN and OUT (can power your camera).
Screen can flip forward like the SmallHD.
High quality 1080p IPS panel.
Can use Canon or Sony batteries to power the monitor.
Supports LUTs!
THE BAD:
While better than the original A6 monitor, the build quality could still improve.
Still no native 4K at 60p support.
DISCLAIMERS:
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
This monitor was supplied to me from Andycine free of charge for testing. This review and it's content was not reviewed or paid for by outside persons or manufacturers.

Hi Caleb. For roughly the same price you can pick up the SWIT CM-55C, which does have waveforms and vector scopes - and does auto-flip. No touchscreen, but It's pretty much a budget SmallHD, so "shortcuts" are also very easily accessible. Nevertheless, these improvements on the Andycine/ Feelworld front are extremely welcome. Portkeys also has some head-turning offerings, albeit not as cheap.

This, like a lot of other budget monitors, is missing waveform monitoring. I don't know if it's difficult to do digitally (maybe requiring a faster/more expensive processor) or if they simply think there isn't demand for it. Waveform is noticeably missing from the BMPCC 4/6k, so it would be great to have an inexpensive monitor to add back that missing function. False color goes a long way to fill in for that, but often, I prefer to have a waveform overlay. (RGB parade is also nice to have to check color balance with a gray card in odd lighting situations.) The Atomos Shinobi at US$300 is a great value, even if they continue to hold a grudge against Blackmagic.

One bug, at least with a GH4. During recording, if you lose power on the Andycine, the recording stops. So if you run out of battery, or shut the monitor off while recording, you have to start recording again.

Isn't that latency caused by high latency HDMI cable? I saw some review on monitors where it was almost without latency thanks to the great HDMI cable, no matter which monitor or camera you are using.
@piotrgraniszewski8544
@piotrgraniszewski8544 4 жыл бұрын
It's impossible. HDMI cable is just electric wiring. The actual latency is caused by microprocessors that have to a) prepare the image and send it out via HDMI and b) receive it and display it on the monitor. Cable snake oil is real, particularly in audiophile audio. Don't fall for it.

Thanks for this video. I got it after watching this review. But when I connected it with my cannon camera, I see the entire camera interface being on the monitor. So the monitor ended up being loaded with lots of info that is normally on a camera screen and is not as clean as yours represented in this video. Also, the focus peaking is terribly designed as it doesn't really "peak" when I focus on small subjects or a single frame with multiple subjects. The focus peaking only works fantastically with the info presented on the monitor tho - outlining each of the data on my cannon screen lol. Perhaps if the camera info isn't on the monitor the focus peaking would work better? I wonder if there's any way to "turn off" the camera interface being directly transmitted to the monitor cuz I cannot find any instruction on the a6 plus manual. If anyone knows how to do that please let me know! Thanks a lot!
