I'm autistic but white and don't often consider how racialisation intersects with autistic experiences. hearing everyone's perspectives helps me ensure I'm advocating for equity and acceptance across the board, fully cognisant and supportive of all identities

Oh thanks! I’m black and autistic (and a woman). I get thrown into the “angry black woman” trope soooo much because I’m direct and my affect will often be flat. People try and read between my lines all of the time, but I’m extremly literal and don’t speak with hidden meaning and I don’t know how to decode peoples hidden meaning in what they say. I’ve been accused of not being autistic due to being dark and black and a woman. I also face racism in the autistic communities. It’s overwhelming.
