Global Health with Greg Martin

Күн бұрын

This is the first in a series of videos on how to find and use data in global health. In this video Dr Greg Martin shows you how to download data on HIV, TB and ART and how to use the vLookup function in Excel to extra the data that you're wanting.
Global health (and public health) is truly multidisciplinary and leans on epidemiology, health economics, health policy, statistics, ethics, demography.... the list goes on and on. This KZbin channel is here to provide you with some teaching and information on these topics. I've also posted some videos on how to find work in the global health space and how to raise money or get a grant for your projects.
Please feel free to leave comments and questions - I'll respond to all of them (we'll, I'll try to at least). Feel free to make suggestions as to future content for the channel.

I am so excited to try this with my students- we have so much malnutrition data to sift through and analyze, this is going to be exceptionally helpful and will hopefully help us cut down on processing time!

Thanks Kris Ronsin - glad you found it useful. Data can be tricky. I'm going to do a few more of these I think.

That would be great- I'm relatively new to working with data, so its been slightly difficult because I generally have to learn AS I encounter a problem. I imagine there are others out there in similar situations- students or otherwise- and having guidance (especially the kind that only takes 10 or 15 minutes) is a huge asset. I'll be looking forward to more data videos on your page. Thanks so much!

Thanks Kris Ronsin - one of the reasons that I'm looking at using excel to analyse global health data is that its software that everyone has access to. Just to let you know, I often use a ***** (Mr Excel)'s KZbin channel when I get stuck (you might find it useful). I'm kinda hoping we can get Bill to feature on this channel sometime and teach us a few tips and tricks for global health data.
