I explore a part of a North Shore river that I have yet to rockhound at and I find an amazing orange Lake Superior agate buried in the river bank! Let's see what other agates and minerals are found along the way!

Always bring water with you. At the very least, keep a water purifier in your pack in case of emergency. Beautiful orange agate ❤.

Agate dad I live just off the Ausable River the Rocks I have found from agates to quarts does blows my mind I'm definitely going to have to send you some things I have found even in my own backyard because we are just off the Ausable River I cannot walk past a rock without picking it up and looking at it thank you for all you do I have learned a lot and now I'm teaching my own grandkids about all these beautiful rocks Mother Nature creates

Thanks for taking us along! Love seeing your treasures. My favorite was the red jasper you found. KatyDid Rocks (and hubby) in Montana wears a backpack to take whatever they find home. They search along the Yellowstone River as it's close to where they live. Of course, they do hunt lots of other places also. Another thing she takes along is a squirt bottle so she can get the silt off the rocks easily. That way she can see their 'true colors'.

That stone that you called a limonite stained nodule - we have a LOT of that in southern Saskatchewan. At one point I had no less than about 10 - 18kg cat litter boxes full of it ... I had wanted to try tumbling it and cutting it.

As an aside, speaking of your "view bucket". Have you considered using Flex seal to secure your plexiglass? I think you need something water resistant.

I've probably asked before but is there makwa 🐻 in that part of Minnesota? If so have you ever encountered one. I've only seen 1 up a little north of Waker a few yrs back. Driveway down the hwy with my uncle and I still jumped in my seat seeing one. 😢😮😂❤

Agate dad that rock you just found kind of looks burnt orange that is beautiful for my 33 wedding anniversary this year my husband kind of let let me know what me and him were doing for our wedding anniversary so I am going on a tour of the lighthouses because I love them we are also going to be camping at a KOA close to Lake Superior he knows how much I love rocks now and I love searching for them it means the most when you find that perfect rock with all kinds of bands and beautiful colors so we are going this year June 23rd June 23rd through the first of July we are even going to make a trip to my favorite Beach along the Mackinac Island and to see the Mackinac Bridge one of my favorite things to do and I'm definitely going to be looking for rocks while I'm out that way and of course now my husband who is a contractor he's never thought about Roxy feels yep it's just a rock now since I have shown him some of your videos and show him some of the Rocks I found I need a sable River and my backyard and my backyard he is just blown away now he legit likes rocks almost as much as I do so he said well I guess a diamond ring is out of the question right?😂 I said yep I'd rather have an agate it's kind of a funny joke in my household I'll take an agate any day over a diamond ring

Are you sure that orange agate isn't carnelian?

Carnelian is a variation of chalcedony right? The north shore doesn’t really have that simple variation, it would be more accurate to say Lake Superior agate nodule. It’s carnelian-ish colored though ☺️
