Just ordered an Equinox 800. Used to metal detect with a White's XLT 20 years ago. Getting back into it and enjoying your videos. Congratulations on a great find!

Thanks! I swung a Garrett Gold for ten years. Great machine and I found a lot with it, but the Nox is amazing. I think you’ll really enjoy it!

Miss those days when digging a Morgan was exciting. I'd have to find a peace medal to scream lol.

Morgans are almost a once in a lifetime find now. I had almost given up hope of ever finding one!

Utah resident here. I’d love to get a group together to go detecting. I’m just starting to get into the hobby.

There are several clubs around and a great group of people on Facebook under Utah Metal Detecting. They actually have a group hunt planned in May at a ghost town in Nevada.

New subscriber is the 1 morgan that is in the bottom left of your hand is it a double stamp ? ( defect ) I know a little bit about coins but it's just enough to get in trouble. If it's a double stamp is it possibly worth a bit more $ ?
@mdutah-insearchofmormongold10 ай бұрын
It does appear that way, but it’s actually corrosion. I believe all of the coins were stacked together before I dug them up.

This is the same video from a couple of months ago?

Yes, I had to repost it. James Brown had a copyright issue with the closing segment in the original video lol

Do we need a special permit for this ?
@mdutah-insearchofmormongold8 ай бұрын
It depends on whether you are on public or private land. In Utah, you would need a permit to detect at State Parks. I was on private land so I didn’t have to worry about it.

@@GrumpykeropyProbably. There are a few regulations when it comes to federal lands. The main thing is to stay away from historical sites, otherwise I don’t think anybody cares.
