Can you use them at gravel bars on river?
@mdutah-insearchofmormongold
@mdutah-insearchofmormongold 7 күн бұрын
Yes, but there may be some limitations. As you know, rock is a dense material so it can affect depth penetration. Also, gravel can sometimes cause erratic signals as it tends to break up the signal.

Wish I had watched this review earlier. I’ve always used the Garrett Propointer, however I find they don’t last more than 6 months before being becoming erratic. Gone through about 4 of them. They’re good whilst they are working. I tried a Mine-lab next, it was hopeless. That 1 lasted only 2 months before going erratic. Now bought 2 x GP propointer, they are not sensitive at all. You basically have to be right on top of the target before it registers. They’re both destined for the bin. Looks like I might try a Fisher next!

Hard to say if you did not swing your at max over exact same ground area as signal found in video. For definitive proof, you should've brought the at max along at the same time.

Hello, I have Minelab Pin point 40 and it´s very, VERY moody. Yes, it can detect everything, it works well. But it will point to false targets, it´s unbehaved (while he start freaking out when I nudge into it, during sudden movement and it starts to detect something and suddenly - nothing). It´s true, when the target is there, it worked everytime on every metal. But it´s very, very annoying to constantly turn it on or of, double checking if there is something and mostly it´s false alarm. Is Garrett better than this or it has other misbehavings? Thank you!

I’ve used a Pro-Find 35 in the past. It was dependable but my go-to is the Garrett. The only real issue I’ve had is it will sometimes turn off but not detect. I simply have to restart it. I have heard other people complain about having problems with Minelab Pinpointers.

One thing to remember is the end of the tip is not the most sensitive part. The most sensitive part is about a 1/2 inch up from the tip so hypothetically, you could get a little more depth detection if it’s on an angle.

You have to remember when everyone does these videos that say look what this found on this property I detected before HAVE to keep in mind you’ll hardly ever go over the same ground the same way in the exact location so what you didn’t pick up before may just as well been a piece of ground you didn’t go over so unless you bring the detector you used before and only after the new one hits a target then swing the old one over it if it hits then you know you just hit an undetected piece of ground 9 times out of 10 that’s the case

Ok, In the video, when the first measurement is 4 minutes and 15 seconds, the result is very poor. You said the first time you opened it... the first time, you said... Then at 4:22 seconds you said you wanted to turn it back on What is this if not an adjustment? Then at 4 minutes and 33 seconds into the video, you say the sensitivity seems to change after rebooting. Therefore, the detection effect at 4:38 is significant. If this isn't an action that changes sensitivity, what is? You should know very well, Garrett's detector also uses a power button to change sensitivity... But I don't see you adjusting the Garrett's sensitivity or trying to reboot. Do you dare to say that such a test is fair? It's not like you said there was no sensitivity testing... You're apparently escorting Fisher Labs... In fact, I think that if your reply is that you did not read the manual clearly and misadjusted it, I won't take it seriously either therefore **I think each of your test and evaluation videos needs to be rechecked.
