Doesn't matter if there are errors in parts of the documentary, the presenter never purports to claim it is a scientific fact finding mission. As an Ethiopian, I found this documentary to be one of the best told accounts of an outsider's perspective on the historical, cultural, and spiritual importance of Christianity to the Ethiopian people.

My homeland, Ethiopia, remains enigmatic within this world. It continues to be a place of immense religious significance, boasting a rich heritage in ancient Christianity and a culture steeped in tradition. Its industrious population should not be judged solely by the values of materialism prevalent in today's society. Ethiopia unravels as an absolute mystery, deserving deep exploration.

Every Tewahdo church in Ethiopia and Eritrea must have a Tabot, a tablet containing the Ten Commandments that Mosses received from God. Essentially a copy of the original Tabot or tablet. Each church is also named to a patron saint. During the once a year celebration of the patron saint, the tablet is taken out of the sacred altar for a special tour around the church. It’s covered and is carried by a priest, followed by priests and the faithful. The tour is to remind the faithful that they are ruled by the Ten Commandments, God’s law.

The arcs you were looking at the baptism ceremonies were replicas of the arc that are placed in every church. The main arc of the covenant is sheltered in Axum Tsion church, much Northern Ethiopia. Just cuz you were lost in the middle, doesn't mean its a legend or a myth. Maybe you should get a translator on your next Journey, I have seen the guys who were translating to you were struggling. To be honest with you, even for us Ethiopians they are very secretive. I know so many stories how they hide. It’s very hard to understand for westerns about ethiopian orthodox Christianity. European still come to ethiopia looking for the arc and so many ancient civilization because they have thousands books that’r stolen from Ethiopia

You can’t quantify 6,000 years of history in 1hour, in the 1980’s a team of explorers tried to go in the church called Our Lady of Zion where it’s been for hundreds of years and they were struck by lightning in the process before even gaining entry, only one person even gets close and that’s the monk assigned to it to protect it thru out his life, people need to go there to seek what the spiritual background can give you and leave trying to find these relics alone
@danielasefa18845 жыл бұрын

No, DMV, one needs only to go to the Word of God for spiritual information, not to supposed relics, or the traditions of men. They are all a diversion from the Truth.

for me it is right to say each church has its own original ark to protect the "Genuine Ark" from being stolen
@AJ-yj5yz5 жыл бұрын
agreed. Ethiopia is in a hot part of the world where there was a constant religious war with muslim kingdoms, keeping the Arc in secret is a crucial priority for the church. Plus, there were so many rumors that Israel was trying to steal back the Arc of the covenant so reveling the secret is like inviting everyone to come steal it.

@Debra Turner Your ridiculous racist comments based on how much melatonin the skin contains make you appear to be very ignorant. Your use of upper case supports that impression. Sin is in the heart of all people. Your comment on Ron Wyat happens to be true however. The formation he claimed to be Noah's Ark is a natural formation, of which there are several in the area.

It concerns me that all these peeps are looking for his hidden treasures when what they need to do is seek him out; Almighty God, Yahweh, Lord of Lord and King of Kings and our Savior Jesus Christ, storing up our treasures in heaven. It dors not please him to see us dig up the dirt, rather DO GOOD WORKS. The plagues have been plaguing us for centuries. Please Repent and accept Christ. For our children. Thank you

9:30 Correction #01: The excerpt, " ... when king Lalibela died God ordered him back to earth to carve the churches ...", is not true. King and Saint Lalibela built all the churches before he died. It's believed that (with the help of angels) it took him 21 years to complete the entire work. 10:43 Correction #02: The excerpt "... the Ethiopian's believe that somewhere hidden behind these curtains is an object handed to Mosses by God. It's the Ark of the Covenant. ... All over Ethiopia hundreds of churches claimed to possess it. It might be here. It might be elsewhere ..." has to be corrected. Every Orthodox Church in Ethiopia has its own replica of the Ark of the Covenant - not the Original. Ethiopians believe the original Ark of Covenant is found at St. Mary of Zion church in Tigray, northern Ethiopia. Anyone interested, please read Graham Hancock’s book 'The Sign and the Seal'. 21:10 and 23:25 Correction #03: "Tis (Chis) Abay Falls" not "Chissus" 44:03: Correction #04: " ... Tabot ..." not "Tablet" Tabot is the Amharic name of the Ark of Covenant.
@mdreagazit67944 жыл бұрын
Correction Tabot is not an amharic word. Tabot is an Geez word. Tigrinya and amharigna use the word. So u can not say its an amharic word cause that sounds like the origin of this word is from amharic.
