Something I've been thinking about: Wouldn't it be cool if we had some iconic Outlast character such as Walrider or Chris walker in dead by daylight? I don't know about you but I've been a fan of outlast since it came out and to me it's an iconic mark of the horror genre, I think it could fit pretty well

Idea is cool but implementing it might be hard tho. Walrider is basically just Wraith. Chris might be fun to try to implement tho, but I find it hard to find a concept for his power. Had we not had Deathslinger already I could have suggested using the chains wrapping around his arms as a drag projectile. Maybe using the fact he tried to rip out the skin of his eyes to gain "true vision" and make the Entity gave him that by giving him aura reading ability for a duration? However, I do have a concept in mind for the Pyromaniac by allowing him to wall off survivor's run route using flames.

Rodrigo Gonzalez I quite liked outlast 2, though It didn’t have all the elements or vibes of the first outlast game and it’s dlcs. I don’t remember the second one all that well, but i do remember that the walrider was replaced by a very Christian cult. I didn’t really like the thought of the goal being retrieving another human in the game, but I liked the fact that we were playing as reporters once again. That was what made the game truly outlast. The Boss that replaced Chris walker was that woman riding something wasn’t it? I wouldn’t mind having her as a killer either, it’s just not as iconic as walrider and chris

Ok, just to clarify things: The Walrider isn't a ghost, spirit or any other unnatural being. In fact it is very well man-made. While appearing ghostly in nature, the Walrider is actually a swarm of nanites; small, nanoscopic machines which collectively possess great strength and power. It is unclear if William "Billy" Hope simply learned to control the swarm, or if he is the first patient to fully manifest the Walrider. A in-game document from 1938 concerning Rudolf Wernicke’s early work with the Morphogenic Engine details a brief manifestation of the swarm. Project Walrider was the process of exposing patients to Morphogenic Engine Therapy to create a suitable host for the nanite swarm, for only a person that has seen enough horror can become the host. The aim was to create the perfect host for the Walrider, so that it could become a sentient being, as is evidenced by some of the notes you found and never read: Gods and Monsters, Variant Postmortem. It is likely that the Variants (e.g. The somewhat sentient people who tried to kill you over and over again) are the results of this procedure. Billy was capable of controlling the Walrider, with his self-directed lucid dream states, however because they were only using damaged and unstable minds to experiment on, the situation got out of control. The Walrider managed to escape, slaughtering most of the facility's staff members, which directly led to a massive prison breakout. Mount Massive Asylum was only there to create said perfect host. Some of the documents as well as some of the dialogues you had during the game hint to all that. Since you finished the main game now and as far as i know it never gets explained like that, only hinted at, i thought i can tell you this now. It doesn't change anything in the story to know that after you finished it.

*Plot Twist: **_Chris Walker was the good guy the whole time._* Yes, it's canon. And yeah obviously he's villainous and violent but he was literally trying to keep the Walrider from finding a new host and breaking out of the asylum. That's why he doesn't kill patients that are too far gone - they're too weak to host the Walrider. It's also why he keeps chasing Miles - he knows that Miles is strong enough to survive Mount Massive and live long enough to become a primo host for the spectre. It's also why he has a thing for pulling off heads - he can't afford someone who still has an intact brain to be around in case it's enough to host the Walrider. *Chris was just trying to protect civilians. Just like he did when he was a soldier.*
