Appreciate this... by far my biggest hangup trying to make my fishing work using my electronics.

Very helpful, especially with what I am seeing with side imaging. I was looking for large pronounced Christmas tree looking objects.

Thanks, You might point out that since your puck is in the back and your livescope is on your trolling motor there is going to be a difference in distance between the 2 units of whatever length the boat is. If your Lowrance says your 50 ft. away and your in a 20ft. boat then your really only 30 ft. away and that's what the Garmin will show.

Boat uses front graph for GPS location on that unit so it takes away that distance. I didn’t have my cursor exactly on the waypoint since I wasn’t zoomed in all the way. If you don’t have it configured that way you, then you are exactly right.

Good job

If you are using the Point One puck as GPS source on your front graph, you need to account for the length of your boat when determining how far back you are. I use the internal GPS on my front graph so I don't have to worry about that. I use the Point One as a source for my dash graph, where I tend to mark most waypoints.

That’s how I set mine up too. Point one for heading on both and gps location for console only.

Great video I don’t have forward facing sonar or 360. Are you placing the puck at the transom and using the console graph for positioning then using the bow graph for casting on the cover/structure. I thought placing the puck at the bow if that is where your casting from is more accurate. Am I wrong about that?
@MidwestOutdoorExperience Жыл бұрын
Ok bear with me on this, lowrance has a great system but it’s a little confusing. I Place the puck at the transom because the console graph is linked to the transom transducer, but uses the puck for its gps location AND HEADING. Now at the bow of the boat I’m using the front graphs internal gps for location, but I’m using the puck for HEADING ONLY. This allows you to get the most accurate waypoints whether you mark from the bow graph or console graph, and also give you constant heading. Doing that allows you to sit still and fish waypoints without your graph spinning because it doesn’t know which way your heading. This setup is possible with lowrance, Garmin, and humminbird. They all just need different components to make it happen.

I don’t have a puck. So are my graphs basing my GPS off of the unit themselves? I’ve struggled to find structure waypoints I have marked. Active target has helped since adding it recently.

Yes if you don’t have an external GPS puck then it is using your unit(s) internal GPS when dropping a waypoint. This would make it harder to find for sure without FFS.

So is that distance from the rear pick or the front of the boat?
@MidwestOutdoorExperience4 ай бұрын
@@markjud1331 front of the boat, front graph internal GPS. Depends on what setup you have for your graphs though. Both garmin and lowrance can use one heading puck, then you can select each unit individually on where they source their gps from (puck or internal). Humminbird is behind the times and requires 2 pucks last I checked.

Never understood why people making/posting videos don’t clean their graph screen
