Love your shows and feel a like prospector with my new knowledge. At almost 98, there is no way I will be joining the herd. BUT! Here in Florida, I once hooked a $20 bill, while fishing! And, another day,I was finding coins near my feet, as I was fishing. After a while, they started looking familiar.Sure enough, I had hole in my pocket, and was 'salting the mine'! So, I think I am an Honorary Prospector.

Hi Gary, just discovered your channel this evening, and watch a few of your videos. Enjoyed watching them.. I just retired as a professional Geologist, SW of Sacramento. Been swing a coil in CA. since 1966 (yeah, I started as a kid). I've found some good stuff, but can't get enough, so I also enjoy watching videos of others finding history. Thanks for posting your videos!

Gary thanks for taking us along . The veiw from the top was awesome. There a lot of country to explore. The corn flake is good size. The old padlock is the prize for the day. Would like to know the year. From all the tailing piles you can tell their was a lot of people working that area. I wouldn't be surprised that area has some cash coins and silvers. HH

That's what I'm doing 2toes working a small creek with seemingly a lot of small gold salt & pepper crumbs embedded into hard decomposing bedrock and man is it real tuff to bust that stuff up but I get a real good workout and find some gold to boot and it's only 1 1/2 hour drive one way !!!! The good thing is here in Virginia where I go prospecting the history states there were 3 small mines around this small creek I'm working and I did locate some old miners shanty shacks that will get some much needed metal detecting come this fall !!!! Who knows I might get lucky and find a piece of history to take back home !!!!

Copper is a strange metal. It's often found in huge chunks in it's natural state. I use to service huge rock crushers. I have a couple of samples that nearly thrashed a million dollar rock crusher. Turns out that copper (compared to rock) is pretty squishy as well as hard. The crushers puke on things like that. They really hate hard wood chunks too. Talk about a violent event!

Another awesome vid! Curious tailings spot.. wondering if you could expand on sites like that? Seems to be high flat ground.. wondering where were they sourcing all those round river rocks? Old channel pushed up high? They seem so random.. was this the remnants of old hydro diggins? Any info appreciated!

It is part of an ancient river system that most of California's gold comes from. There are hundreds of these digging and hydraulic sites all across the mother lode.

As far as I can tell it is basically the same as the TDI but with out the 2 rechargeable batteries. It comes with the same 8 - AA battery slip in pack as most of the other White's detectors. Awesome video! (as usual!!) Thank you! ps: I've just tried to buy "12 inch Stainless Steel Crevice Tool" from your store (see video details for the link) and there's no option to buy it from Canada? : ( I wish I have this legendary tool!!!
@TwoToes
@TwoToes 6 жыл бұрын
I would love to sell out of the United States, but the shipping cost is very high - over $20 to ship one tool . The larger obstacle is I do all the shipping from my shipping center, I pay for the postage there and print the shipping labels. Then all I have to do is drop the packages off at the post office, I don't have to wait in line, I just drop them in the "going out box". If I ship out of the U.S. they require custom forms. I have to stand in line to fill out and process the customs forms. Depending on the day this can take a lot of time, that I just don't have. I have been trying to find a better way but so far, I have been unable to.

Why when you find glass to you need to explore? What do you hope to find?
@TwoToes
@TwoToes 6 жыл бұрын
Anytime you find a piece of old glass it means someone was living close by. You can follow the pieces of glass and trash to the main camp. Once you locate the main camp you can find all kinds of great stuff, coins, bottles, belt buckles, and more. Most of the time they did not take glass very far from camp. The glass also allows you to date the site by how it was made.

Good day, Sir. Kenneth wonder why you did prospecting in this river? I'm exploring a small river/creek for myself. I do this on the basis of a 5-hour walk to the lake where the creek originally comes from and flows through large granite boulders. Have learned from You Gold Prospecting KZbinrs where to look. And learned a lot of geology by Jeff Williams .... But all I find is tons of black sand ... :( This river is not known to bear gold because nobody has examined this river before me. Do you have any suggestions for what I should do next? Kenneth Prospecting Norway.
@TwoToes
@TwoToes 6 жыл бұрын
I wanted to check out the creek because it was a small creek and it is in a very good gold producing area. The larger creeks are known well and worked a lot harder than the smaller ones. The trick is to find a small creek that has a lot of gold. That is why when I get the chance to check out a smaller creek, I jump at it. As far as finding one, read all the history you can about the area!
