Located 90 miles south of Chicago is the small town of Onarga, Illinois. Like most small towns, this town has its own cemetery that dates back to the days of the first pioneers. However, someone very special is buried in this particular cemetery. Someone that literally changed the course of history as we know it. Buried in this small rural cemetery is a man by the name of Timothy Webster. A man that few have heard of. A man who worked for the Allan Pinkerton Detective Agency. A man that foiled a plot to assassinate president elect, Abraham Lincoln. Had President Lincoln been assassinated at this time, history, as we know it, wouldn't exist. Not only did he foil an assassination attempt, he also was a spy for the Union in the Civil War. He provided Lincoln and Pinkerton secret information from the Confederates. He changed the course of history, not once, but twice. We are going to find his grave today and I will tell you more about his story. So please join me as we explore Onarga Cemetery.
