I have 2 Taylor's, American Strat, 68 Reissue Custom Les Paul, A Hamer centaura, a Yamaha Acoustic, Yamaha Electric, A Spanish Classical, a reverand Flatroc a cutom Zebra wood Electric and a couple others. I am OK when I practice. Don't find the time very often.

Hey Dave I'm in Richmond Indiana and we have one huge gorge that is also a small river. I always wondered if that gorge had any. I have a friend who is really into panning and he travels to southern Indiana to brown county to do his panning. I asked him if he ever panned in the gorge and he said that it doesn't have any in it. It's a pretty deep gorge and also very wide. Has 4 lane bridges over it.

There is gold there and the reason I say that is because I have found it further South in Batesville. If you can find a spot in the river, where there are huge boulders and preferably some bedrock, you will find gold in the gravel that is closest to the bedrock. There is also small flood golds in the higher gravels. In Batesville, I found it in a little ditch in town behind someone's house. really was not a creek or river. The Glaciers definitely dropped gold in your area. If you have a very deep gorge, you should be getting closer to bedrock in that deep spot. Look at a topographical map for your area and see where the bedrock is closest to the surface and go panning in that area. Good Luck and Thanks for watching.

I also looked at the satellite view of the map over Richmond and it looks like their are boulders and rapids in the river. Should be able to find gold in those boulder patches.

I Looked at your Dam from a satellite image and it looks like their are crevices that run perpendicular to the stream. I would try panning in those crevices.

I live in metamora right by Oldenburg and batesville. We have 80 acres that has a big creek running thru it. Its all bed rock and cut thru hills. Theres 1 spot i panned twice its a sharp s curve with a cliff on one side and I found a decent amount of gold in it. I only spent a few hours each time but want to work it alot harder one day soon.

I ahve not prospected in Shelby County area, but have found plenty of gold in Greensburg at the Cottonwood trail camp that a lot of people go to. Found plenty at Morgan Monroe State Forest and have found gold close to Indy. I believe mt friend Todd used to find a lot of gols in the Big Blue near your area. Thanks for watching !
