Pity you can’t add photos in KZbin comments darn it! I found a nice piece of Uruguay Amethyst & had a friend cut & Polish it into a deneb pattern stone! Got out local jeweller to melt some old family scrap gold jewellery & set the stone surrounded with some small diamonds for my daughter because it’s her birth stone. It came out awesome! Just would give you some idea what is possible with the amethysts once cut polished & set into nicely designed ring! A bit more motivation for those busy hunting the stones to see a finished product! 👍👍👍🇦🇺

Amethyst is my birthstone . I just absolutely love the rich purple color of it. I have a few rings made of it but would love to have one of the untouched crystals that you find. I really enjoy your videos please keep them coming !

Oh man a good rain is the BEST for this kind of hunting... We used to look for shares after rains like this and they would be on little pillars of sand in the tailings piles from the iron mines. So much fun.

A.J Stephenson famous geologist from statesville really paved the way for mineralogy in N.C... and I’ve studied some areas... Last year I bought a huge chunk of amethyst at Ed's House of Gems in Portland, Or. The piece originally is from somewhere in Brazil where they cut large slabs off the side of a mountain, or so I was told. The piece I bought had been on display (at Ed's) for over 20 yrs., it's 58 inches high, 12 inches across the base. Weight? I'm not sure but it took 3 guys and hand-truck to get it into my place. Later on I'll have to decide who inherits it after I'm gone. It's a head-turner for sure.

What an amazing place to hunt in, and the rain came down to show more hidden crystals we hope. The beautiful crystals that Chris found are out of this world Bryan, sometimes I wish I were fit and able ßo I could come to the US and join in the hunt for amethysts. I have some pieces as it's my birthstone and my favourite crystal but nothing like the beauties you find. I can't wait for part 2, I think you like to tease us now and again lol.
