I did this when I was in high school with only one color, but I love this video on many colors and why it matters, they did not explain all this. Thank you so much. I've been looking for help matching colors for myself, this is great.

This was such a great demonstration. I think the clearest I have ever seen. I had my colours done/analysed a number of years ago and was designated as a winter. I was sceptical but i recently found the swatch of sample colours and they are exactly what is in my wardrobe that works best on me. I do find that depending on the season, my skin and hair can be darker or lighter and this seems to have some bearing on how well certain colours look on me.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It's fascinating how our individual color palettes resonate with us, even subconsciously. While our skin and hair might change with the seasons or over time, our seasonal color type remains consistent, as it's determined by a combination of factors, not just skin undertone but also natural hair color, eye color, and overall contrast and darkness/lightness in our features.

Hi Daria thanks for the informative video:) under what kind of light should we be analyzing our colors? I feel like artificial light such as in bathroom might add warmth but under direct sun might be too strong? Thanks :)
@wonderwardrobe
@wonderwardrobe 9 ай бұрын
Great question about lighting. Natural daylight is the best for color analysis because it provides the most accurate representation of colors. Artificial light can indeed skew the perception of colors, so try to find a spot with indirect natural light for the most reliable results. I put my chair 1 meter away from my window and waited for a soft light without a strong sunlight. Thanks for watching! :)

I love fuschia and bright orange together like your swatches at the beginning- can they work together ok if one is cool and one is warm?
@wonderwardrobe
@wonderwardrobe 9 ай бұрын
That's a great question! Fuchsia and bright orange can work together if you have dark brown skin tone and you're a deep Winter and even then fuchsia should be placed near your face. In any other case it will create visual chaos :) But we can enjoy our favourite colors in other medias, like this combo might be great for an interior design or art piece.

Hi Daria, Thank you so much for posting this live session. You solved the mystery I have had for many years. I do have a question here. How about season types for Asians? Are asians always winter? I have yellow skin, dark brown black hair and eyes. I have noticed my skin looks healthiest in cool yellow (citrus lemon), but look like ghost in bright orange. 🤣
@wonderwardrobe
@wonderwardrobe 9 ай бұрын
Hi there! I'm so glad you found the live session helpful! Regarding seasonal color analysis for Asians, it's definitely not a one-size-fits-all; Asians can fall into any seasonal category, not just winter. Although MOST women on this Planet fall under Winter or Autumn types. If cool yellows like citrus lemon look great on you but bright orange doesn't, you might lean towards seasons with cooler undertones. The best way to find out is to compare more opposite colors, for example, blue (cold) against olive (warm).

HI Daria, thank you so much for this video! A question: I am a soft autumn too (more in between a soft summer and soft autumn) and I see you picking some (in my eyes) bright colours for yourself that look good on you (like the yellow shade in the beginning of the video and the bright orange and lime shade), but would never look good on me. I therefore always stick with muted colours, but sometimes I do wonder how you can still integrate a bright colour without it “clashing with my colour type”?! I also feel that I can both wear cold and warm colours as long as they are muted and not too warm or too cold, and also can wear both silver and gold. I was told that I have a more neutral skin tone (in between cool and warm). So it is not a question of “either/or but more like a scale, where you can land exactly in the middle. Is this correct? And yes: you should definitely wear more forest green! Looks great on you 😀! Thanks again ☺️ 🙏

Hi there! Your insight is valuable. If you're a soft autumn, it's generally best to steer clear of cold colors, even if they appear soft. Did you notice the effect on my face with that first muted shade of pink? It's a great example of why warm tones are typically more flattering for soft autumns. While you might feel you have a neutral skin tone, skin undertones are usually either warm or cool, and it's crucial to identify yours accurately for the best color results. Remember, color analysis isn't just about skin undertone; it involves considering your hair color and its undertone, eye color, the contrast between your features, and the overall lightness or darkness of your features. There's a lot to explore, so keep experimenting to find what truly enhances your natural beauty! And yes, more forest green for me - it does look great, thanks for the encouragement! 😊

I found that more delicate colours in Autumn; peach, tans, low yellow-brown but yellow is too warm..kaki (not grey’s one) might be good but mustard yellow might be too much…others ideas for kaki’s? Like what you did…thanks
@wonderwardrobe
@wonderwardrobe 9 ай бұрын
You're right; delicate colors like peach, tans, and certain shades of khaki can be great for Autumn as long as they are not too light and pale. If mustard is too strong, try softer yellows or olive greens. Experimenting with different shades within your color palette can lead to some great discoveries!

I’m trying to understand why pink is considered cold & green warm, when pink is essentially light red with a little blue in & green is a combination of blue & yellow. Is red not considered warm?
@thealteration402
@thealteration402 9 ай бұрын
warm colors have a yellow base; cool colors have a blue base. a tomato red is warm, where a classic cherry red is usually cool

Well, we all make mistakes, but there is a way to make the work better for your type ;) first, don't wear them together, only separately. Mix them with obviously cold colors like pure white, blue, pink, burgundy, violet. Add silver jewellery when possible. It should be ok!

How about clear vs muted? As an Autumn... I think you dress like a Bright Autumn? How are you in muted shades?
@wonderwardrobe
@wonderwardrobe 9 ай бұрын
Both muted and bright shades look good as long as they are warm. But when it comes to bright shades I need to wear them in soft or blended combinations, never in a contrasting ones. I am not a Bright Autumn, those have natural red hair and brown/dark hazel-brown eyes ;)
