LA Union is the best choice because it's not only near to Manila but it is also near to Clark airport. LA Union is in the middle so the distance when you're driving from Manila is also the same when you drive from LA Union to Pagudpud.

Having regularly watched your blogs I can see you are a similar character as myself. I am an Australian with my Filipino partner and love the beach, surf, good wine, restaurants, sun sets, very small but super friendly expat community ( unlike other Provinces which I won't go there!), good nightlife and entertainment , not to mention great secluded areas if you want- there is only ONE place for you : LA UNION!!! Hands down. I live in Urbistanzo and I know you have been here but trust me you will want to build your forever home ( like we are). However, we spend 4-5 months in Australia ( Sydney) as even though I love the Philippines I have to get back home. Spend another 2-3 months travelling and the rest of the time in San Juan/ Urbistanzo. Its a perfect combination.

Pundaquit, San Antonio would be my choice. Peter from the vlog Property Club built a house right on the beach there. It’s not far from Subic. It has surf 🏄‍♀️ sometimes. My favorite part is the sunset it over the water and there are several islands just off the coast to explore.

I've never been to either one of those places. La Union to me makes a lot more sense because you can drive there anytime and you're closer to Manila. Tagaytay might be a better option but no beach.

Why not have a place in both location? They are a lot more affordable than Manila, right now. For laid back relaxation, Ilocos is where it’s at. For partying and night life, maybe La Union is where it’s at.

How about Mindoro (Puerto Galera). It's a 2 hour Roro from Batangas Port and the area seems to be thriving now. The beach is also better than before.

Mike, Bicol is not a province but a whole region comprised of six provinces, four of which are located in the Bicol Peninsula (southeastern end of Luzon) namely CAMARINES NORTE, CAMARINES SUR, ALBAY, SORSOGON and two island provinces off the shore namely CATANDUANES and MASBATE! These 6 provinces are located in the Bicol Region! I just thought you should know since you mentioned that Bicol is one of your favorite places!😊

I prefer the Ilocos Region. No Bicol for me prone to typhoon and tsunami in the future. I never like to live in Manila, too hot for me and overcrowded. Not near Manila either, there will be a big One to come soon and tsunami from the Volacano, not safe. No to Palawan , No Southern Region . Thanks
