On fly clips…was Anthony referencing those Rio fly clips to change out flies quickly? Fun stuff crew!

I'm sure they're similar to the Rio ones, but these are the clips Anthony is using: www.amazon.com/dp/B091K81KNW?&_encoding=UTF8&tag=troutr-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=927dbd77df0217176a456ef1c164a986&camp=1789&creative=9325

Sorry for the novel! This podcast is too entertaining to me. I haven't finished the episode yet so there may be more comments coming but I laughed so hard when Tom mentioned we have guns out here with the orange paint I actually spilled my coffee in laughter. Most people really are more "in your face" in their approach but I also find that's more on the common rivers like Provo, Green, Henrys Fork, Madison, etc. Blue lining is easy out here because people would rather complain more about high holing each other while I get the blue lines to myself. Anytime you folks come out, hit me up and I will put you on some good water. As for the tippet thing. This really peaked my interest. I compare tippet to engine oil; everyone has a different opinion (synthetic vs conventional, semi, etc). There are fancy words out there like "blend" that mesh some of these materials together and I think in some ways, that's why the topic is over rated. You may be fishing blends of line that offer a combo Flouro, mono, nylon and other materials that in a way, some of us are fishing it without realizing it. I don't think it strongly applies to tenkara, but it really holds it's value in the Western Fly Fishing World. There is a section of Henrys Fork that is seasonal because it's on private land and when it opens, it offers some of the most technical, slow moving dry fly fishing that challenges the most skilled anglers. Where presentation is mandatory, it makes sense to buy premium fluorocarbon. However in fast action tenkara streams, there isn't enough time for your line to stay stagnant to really give trout the opportunity to care. As for tippet rings, I have had trout try to eat my rings thinking it was a bug so I stay away from them unless I use furled line. Not that my opinion matters but your podcast really makes me feel like I am in the room with you guys. It's a great listen and I love to chime my thoughts in too. Can't wait to listen to the rest! 🤩

Thanks for the great comments! I’d love to get on the water with you. And on the tippet , I’ve asked some knowledgeable anglers (more so than me). And it seemed that , as Tom said , that the abrasion resistance of the fluorocarbon is the characteristic that they are attracted too mostly.
