This is a really good format for the video. I was expecting just gameplay highlights but i really liked how you highlighted certain characters. It makes me want to play a few of them. Excellent video.

Sick video. Some of these characters look kinda sick now that I've seen more gameplay. Tho, despite being an Incin lover, I wasn't really all to into La Reina when she was first announced (mainly because I assumed that Helios for sure had it in the bag) but the more I'm seeing La Reina and how much people are loving her playstyle, she seems very cool to me now. Can't wait to play her in 2.

So I only learned about the contest after it was over, but I could tell Bhadra wouldn't win after seeing his kit. The entire point of the character is to emulate Johnny from Guilty Gear, down to his Mist Finer and coin combos. But the issue is that it feels like it emulates it a bit TOO closely. Doesn't have as much of it's own identity besides that. Helios is inspired by Venom (also from GG), but he feels a bit more original in comparison.

One of my favorite picks that was not mentioned was Arcuin. Excellent sound design, cool weapon user, and since I used to play PM/P+ DDD, an arctic bird with a hammer speaks to me. His chain mechanic is also very interesting, and leads to some really neat conversions. I feel like some of his normals need a little work still, and his downB is not as fleshed out as it could be, especially in terms of interacting with chains. Otherwise, his kit feels amazing.

this is definitely a cool idea for a vid, and generally well-edited, there are just two big pieces of criticism i have: 1) i really wanted kinda a list going through each one and talking about them, using footage from your tournament as you talked about them, like you did *sometimes* in the vid, i'd have cut out the random stuff in between that that ends up kinda being confusing. Plus, when you *did* explain, it feels at times like you kind of expected the viewer to know elements of who they are or what they do, when a fuller explanation could've been nice. 2) the Fleet pet thing freaking constantly in-frame or even focused-on by the camera is too much. No matter what characters were onscreen all my eyes wanted to float back to was Fleet. You really should turn the pets off for stuff like this lol

Thanks for responding with this criticism! Just wanted to respond with my thoughts on both points. 1) I could’ve done this, but the video was more focused on the journey of the character gauntlet rather than a review of every single character in the workshop contest. A full on review of every character is a good video to want, but I don’t really like those types of videos personally, so the interjections are mainly to shine a spotlight on my absolute favorites/characters I formed a different opinion on after the gauntlet and encourage people to try them for themselves. I will say that the cuts in the middle *are* confusing at times, even in the context of it not being a full on character breakdown, but unfortunately the order of character releases dictated what was talked about when so, I tried my best :p 2) LOL. I’ll keep this in mind for future videos. Unfortunately I like buddies a lot so this will be a hard decision Thanks again 4 watching!

It’s only a loss if you don’t learn from it, and I can confidently say that I won’t be playing every single character in the 2023-2024 Rivals 2 Workshop Character contest in a character gauntlet format vs my friend Meechole over the course of 2 months starting on January 10th ever again.

Arcuin is super high quality and has really fun normals, but I don’t really vibe with tethering the opponent to yourself as a mechanic in general. I probably woulda talked about him if I messed around with him outside of the contest but I never got around to it :p

@@colbyjackc you can also tether yourself to your boulder and then if the ball touches the opponent the boulder connects to the opponent and you can use your tether on parts of the stage to move around really well

A character cant be really complicated and good animations on 3d my pc is good and suffers from roblox . It would be cool for the game to actually be capable of that but its reality. Im brazilan by the way or internet connection is garbage
