Dear Rabbi Joe, I want to thank you so much for sharing so many wonderful messages. I just discovered you tonight and watched several of your videos. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints currently living in Bethlehem Palestine, I began crying when I saw you flipping through the pages of your Book of Mormon teaching all of us in a way that only a Jew could. I don’t exactly know what I experienced but it was profound. I feel like I saw prophecy being fulfilled through you. I have had many sacred experiences in this Holy Land and now consider being in Bethlehem (originally land for the tribe of Judah) being taught by a Jew in America tonight one of them. Thank you from my heart. Shalom

I appreciate recognizing that life is a series of battles like it was in Book of Mormon times. We aren't so very different from our ancient brothers and sisters. The reminder to not harden hearts despite the difficulties was meaningful.

I remember first encountering C. S. Lewis' speech to WW2 soldiers ("The Weight of Glory"). He said something similar, in summary, that, while we may be asked to neutralize the enemy, we are never asked to hate them.

15:30 he most likely didn't do it intentionally, but I find it interesting that he says "keep the presence of God with us" since "God with us" could be translated as Emmanuel. It fits perfectly for a saint to keep the presence of Jesus.

Toda raba rabbi Joe. This message was an answer to a prayer. I'm in a personal battle now that has been exceedingly long and over time as Alma and you have insightfully taught, have hardened me unwillingly. Yet, I have continued to hope for a softening in me and the person I love deeply. We have weathered many storms together, but also have had many conflicts with each other. I have a love for the prophet Alma that has deepened even further today from this gift of wisdom that he has given us, a lifeline to help us see more clearly the way to retain our humanity, to not forget the divine spark within us and within our "enemies". Even those we love. I feel inspired to make a covenant of peace today with the person I have hurt. I know it doesn't make life easier, but I feel hope that the Lord, blessed be He, wants peace for me and for those I love. I have to trust in the promise that through the lessons of those gone before us, I can receive strength to forge ahead with faith in the One who watches over us with great love and concern for our well-being. Beautiful session. Shalom

Thank you so much. I love watching these clips. I know what you mean about grieving Alma Rabbi. Each time a book ends and a Prophet exits, I feel sad and miss them. I have so much love and respect for them because I got to know them personally. I see how good they are and how much work they put into helping others. I am happy to read and re-read Alma's words again and again. One of the beautiful things I love about the scriptures is that there is never really a goodbye. That's just the way I see it. Thank you ❤

What we should keep in mind about these pacifists is that they had converted from a lifestyle that was pretty much based on casual murder and disregard for human life. They came to be so repulsed by their former culture that they felt the compelling need to reject it completely.
