Dude no need to apologize for your baby girl.. I can see her years down the road in a tree stand with you and those times a re e priceless. Thanks for all the videos you post, I've learned a lot from them as a newbie in the sport. I just went from a 27.5 dl to a 28 and yes my anchor point changed some I'm starting to shoot much better getting used to it. The v between my thumb and index finger used to be at my jaw bone and it seemed short because I had to tilt my head down but now my index knuckle is right behind my ear like yours pushing into that pressure point it feels more where I should be for a good anchor. 👍🏻

Absolutely no need to apologize for your daughter, our children are the finest things in life and she is 1 lucky little girl to have a father that I am sure will teach her about the finer things in life. Great Videos, One comment regarding Draw weight. If hunting, check local laws regarding draw weight. In Alberta, Canada, bow hunting requires a minimum of 40lb draw weight at 28" draw length to legally hunt. Getting caught with anything less could be a hefty and inconvenient fine.

Quick question. I am having some issues with shoulder pain after shooting my bow, even as few as 6 arrows. I don't strain to get the bow drawn, so it's hard to believe the poundage is too high. Is it possible that this is just due to being new to shooting a bow and my muscles need time to strengthen and become accustomed to the strain of the draw? Or, alternatively, could it just be due to poor form? If neither really is likely to be the case and it is solely from too much draw weight, it's easy enough to back off the weight a bit until I strengthen up. Thanks in advance for the response.

What is the current draw weight and more importantly, draw LENGTH? If this is your first go 'round with archery, welcome to the greatest sport on earth! A lot of people, newbies and vets alike, have a draw length that's too long for them, which can cause the weight of a 40# bow to have the effects of a 50# on your shoulder/back. Also, archery (when drawing properly) uses muscles you hardly ever use in a situation that's even less frequent. I'm by no means muscular, but I've pulled back bows that big, muscular football players can't get back. And I know it's because I've worked out those specific muscles and worked in good form in order to be able to do so. Hope this helps!

I'm not sure exactly what the bow draw length is, because I got that set at a shop but even then it was a bit too long so I adjust the limb stop to shorten it a bit more. If I had to guess it's around 28 or 28.5. The draw weight max on the bow is 71.2 per the factory tag and I had the limb bolts backed down 3 turns which the manual indicates is 3 lbs per turn giving me about a draw weight of around 62.

+MrMalditor Well I'd say that, for starting out with archery, a 60-70lbs bow is too much. Especially if the draw length is too long. You'll want to do some good exercises and practice good form because if you learn bad form habits now because you're shooting an improper draw length or are over-bowed, you'll have problems later down the road. What bow are you shooting by the way?
@MrMalditor

2013 model Martin Blade x4. I went ahead and turned the weight down as much as possible without a bow press at 5 full turns. should put it around 56 lbs. I don't think the draw is too long because can get a good sight picture through the peep and I'm having good results accuracy wise when I do shoot. Keeping 2 of 3 shots inside of a 3 inch ring most of the time.

+MrMalditor Well it sounds like you've got it all set the way it should be and you're accurate! So keep practicing and build up your strength! God bless.

Can you check out my latest video on my channel? I did some shooting with my bow and I just recently was able to start shooting those two old bows in the video. I would like to know if you could possibly help if maybe you could point something out that I did wrong. Thanks, and God Bless!

The only comment I have is that you take your time with the shot cycle. It seems that you're in a hurry to get the shot off (could be for the sake of the video length). But if you are doing it quickly, it'll lead to target panic. Aside from dry firing your bow, shooting it with target panic is almost just as bad, personally. I've seen people learn to go through their shot cycle super because they wanted the shot off ASAP! You don't seem to be in a panic, but it's best to nip the habit of fast shooting in the bud earlier rather than later. Other than that, I like how you draw the bow. There's very little extra movement. Your release after the shot is a good hold with your bow arm; you're not dropping it too quickly. Keep up the god work and best of luck if you get out this season!

I think you should do a video on stabilizers. Alot of people get confused about what a stabilizer really does for a bow and also what weight it should be depending on the bow.
