I'm getting my nursing degree as well (my second B.A). I'm 26. There are people that are much older in my classes (especially with ABSN / Accelerated Nursing Programs) that are getting theirs as well! No need to be self-conscious - we all have our own timelines! I find nursing students particularly are also a bit older at my pre-reqs at community college.

So excited for you! Just as I recognize the pitfalls in allopathic herbalism, I deeply appreciate the art of a holistic approach to Western medicine. Allopathic versus holistic practices aren't herbs versus chemically constructed medicine, after all. It is the difference in approaching the wellness of the whole self as opposed to simply treating the symptom, and that can be a beautiful path for any type of practitioner. I admire you for holding that vision for yourself. All the woo woo to you are yours for a smooth transition!! 💛

I went to university at 26 and was not remotely the oldest person! It can be a different experience going as a not-18-year-old for sure, but I think I've done better for having gone as a grown up. If nothing else, I knew what a deadline was when assignments began... You will be GREAT.

I felt the same way about being an RN. Loved the natural healing methods since I was a child and thought I could marry them. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Western medicine and current nursing is not healthcare. It is not healing and I have retired from being an RN at 39 years old as a result. As I am currently headed out the door to walk the picket line with my former RN coworkers whom are planning to strike, I encourage you to think this over completely. I had a nurse friend recently stop working as an RN to pursue a naturopath education. You learn disease processes and how to treat a person holistically on that path. I don't comment on a lot of things online, but this tugged at my heart. Look at every path available before making such an expensive commitment.
@Ice-d2f10 ай бұрын
I left the traditional medical route after pre-med to head to naturopathic medical school, in my second year, and holy moly it's rigorous:) It is the best of both worlds, not as respected yet but slowly getting there with everything going on in our world. Maybe we're being nudged to heal more naturally, to actually slow down and listen to our bodies. This beautiful lady will make a fantastic naturopathic physician and so would you, it's never too late! There are many in my cohort who have come from medical and PhD programs.
@roseo32210 ай бұрын
I left nursing to become board certified in holistic health. I'm a certified naturopath but states are quickly making laws to prevent holistic care practices. I'm not even allowed to use the word naturopath in my title now despite my education. Definitely check your state laws before investing in your education. Holistic health is definitely under attack from allopathic groups.
@Ice-d2f10 ай бұрын
@@roseo322 yeah, I know there are only a handful of states where ND's are given prescription rights but it's still worth the difficult 4 years of naturopathic medical school. There are so many career options even in the traditional medical field, two of my profs work in the ER. It's exciting to learn both eastern and western medical approaches but it's a tooooon of work.
@roseo32210 ай бұрын
@@Ice-d2fI'm not talking about prescription rights. I mean that I'm not allowed to use the term naturopath to describe myself at all professionally in my state unless I am a licensed MD, chiropractor, or DO. That changed just 2 years ago. If you're in a state that allows someone without a medical license to call themselves an ND, then you're lucky. Unfortunately, it's not allowed in my state any more. Many of us are fighting it but I don't see it changing back anytime soon sadly. Best of wishes on your future career! We need more holistically trained people for sure. I've considered moving so I can have my own practice as I had once planned before the state laws changed.

@@Ice-d2fwhy would a naturopath want prescription rights?!? Isn’t the whole thing to be able to heal the body without the use of drugs?

Just an important thing to note. Of course I might be wrong on the ID, it's hard to tell on screen sometimes and I'm in a different country. I hope you get this house ... I moved a lot in my 20s... But yeah that's life figuring it all out. I got stable with my current partner ever since. Life moved me 3 years ago out of a very stable place but they were selling. I got into a place that looking back was a gift from God. My dad passed but I was closer to him. I respect the timing of things... The yes and the no.... All things will work out for your best interest. You can do new things and time for Spring and Rebirth. Bless be ❤

But I really don't know anything clearly or specifically, I just know a little and want to be healed. Recently, videos about green witch started appearing in my recommendations. I started learning about witches again. However, I mostly want to hear about the magical and medicinal uses of plants, quartz energy... Currently, I don't know if I am starting on the path of green witch or just starting to walk the path of green witch. a passerby learning about something new....could also be one.
