Finding sea shells on the beach here in Southwest Florida turned me into a shell lover! I've always loved the beach, but finding sea shells was never fun since I never seemed to find any. Now I am making up for lots of lost time :-)

I love ghost crabs! Eons ago when there were no condos and giant hotels along the Florida coast ( that gives you a clue as to how ancient I am! ), my brother and I would take flashlights and walk for miles on the beach looking for ghost crabs and other critters. Ghost crabs are quirky, crafty and quick as lightening. Such fun!

Sanibel Island and the surrounding islands have been on my bucket list for a long time. I just found your channel literally a week ago. I'm so very sad for what the area and the people have suffered there. I pray that everyone is safe and that eventually everyone can make a wonderful comeback. I'm from south Louisiana so I know all about rebuilding after such devastation. You are all in my prayers.

I really didn't know that it is harder to find shells in the summer time and winter time it is better. Cute hermit crabs in the shells. I didn't know there were different Angel wing shells. We have lots and lots of the little ghost crabs where I camp on the beach in Corpus Christie, TX. They are hilarious because they will stare at you and then throw sand, and you can tell they are trying so hard to be intimidating and scare you away, but they are so tiny and them throwing a pinch of sand is just so funny. I love them. I’m actually planning to go to Fort Myers Beach probably tomorrow evening. I went to Kice on Saturday with SWFL Shell Guide (thanks again for that recommendation! She’s awesome!), I was at Sanibel today, and in the morning I am going to Cayo Costa, and then Captiva. I’m hoping to catch Lover’s Key before I leave for home, too. I’m absolutely loving it all!!! I can definitely see why you wanted to move here. ❤️🥰 I have some really gorgeous shells going home with me already.

Just came back from Marco island! Found 5 gallon bucket full of fighting conches, 16 sunray venus, 21 olives, 17 lightning whelks, scallops, jingles, 2 flats, 3 king crown, 1 rose murex, 1 lace murex, 3 apple murex, 2 alphabet cones, and several more.!!!! Great vacation!!!

@@SWFBeachLife We have lot of blue shells, and small seasnails - bigger seasnails and others are in deep waters, and turned white. Our particular island is different than the rest of Greenland, we have dead lava, black beach, some parts look like Hawaii, some Iceland, some Costa Rica 🙂 Basalt rocks.. So green in the summer that it is surprising to some.. 🙂 People say hi to strangers... If possible with boat and long walks you can get to Amythyst slope, Agat field, fossils of trees... In the winter with no sun, everything is blue, blue sky, blue ocean and the white snow turning blue from the moonshine 😀 Nature is big and harsh, but beautiful 🙂

I love the bubbles and jingles! There is something to be said for the smooth and shiny almost pearly appearance of these shells. They may be considered common to most folks but not in my book. I like the drill holes too. I can remember picking up shells as a child and seeing that hole and I wondered if it was a piece of jewelry someone had lost while at the beach. I never knew about the drill holes until you...thanks! Oh...and that little ghost crab! What a hoot seeing it jump in the water! They're so funny! As usual, I can't wait to what you have to show us next Sunday. Thanks for bringing the beach to us land-locked people...Lol!

At the end where you show your day's collection, you also had a sea pearl in the upper left corner! I really love those; they're fun to find plus so smooth & kind of cool to carry in your pocket like a worry stone. When I find one, if I keep looking in the area, I usually find more, mostly up in the high trash line. Very enjoyable video today; I've never found a Sunray Venus with that unusual color & striping either. Really gorgeous! Another great video!! And beautiful shells! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a tiny bit jealous over that King Crown Conch!! Such a lucky find! And all those Angel Wings and the big, dark olive, too! When I was in Marco Island, I found a couple tiny Angel wings I kept, some small olives, and at least 6 (maybe more) King Crowns, but….they were all occupied, so I left them. Those crown conchs are so tough to find in good condition - and empty! Those hermit crabs seem to love them and the shark eyes. You'll find a keeper one of these days. 🤞🏻

I love running into ghost crabs (or any live crabs for that matter)! When red tide was bad, there were all kinds of GC holes by dead fish. FMB was good to you that day!
