Finding sea shells at low tide, especially in the summer is always really fun. I typically try to either get out there first thing, or find sea shells at low tide to help increase my chances of finding treasures.

I love shells but my favourite part of your videos is how respectful you are of the environment and the sea animals. I love that you try not to disturb live critters or as little as possible and only for educational purposes. And beach time and actually looking for shells vicariously is very enjoyable. Thanks Sharmon. Love from Gold Coast, Australia.

I'm quite lucky to live here and be able to take a short drive to catch a low tide and say hi to some critters. I've only lived here just short of 3 years and I'm making up for a lot of lost beach time! Thanks for enjoying the beach with me all the way from Australia!

Hi. Love your show. Learn so much from it. I checked on Quora regarding removing slipper snails from other shells and a couple biologists on there answered that question already saying NO. You can rip the snail's body and actually separate it from the shell, which will cause it to die in a short time. Hope that helps.
@SWFBeachLife

Thank you it does! Now I know removing a slipper could harm it. I'm glad I didn't try it and I just left them peacefully at the beach ☺️

A shell mirror: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5eYhImjbdJopJo And a shell photo frame: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmq4eqmnobStna8 I have lots of ideas I just need to find more time!

Hi Sharmon, What a beautiful evening! I can totally understand that you had to drag yourself off the beach. It really was an amazing evening to enjoy all the goodies the sea has to offer. Those hermit crabs are so funny! I'm always amazed to see them in all kind of shells, defending their little home until it's time to move to a bigger one. Although it wasn't a great haul, the shells you've found were gorgeous! And seeing all the critters is so much fun. Thank you so much for taking us with you on your beach walks. As always, I've loved every minute of it. I hope you have a wonderful week, filled with joy and happiness. Big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤️, Ilona

Oh, I do love going to the beach with you every week, and this week was really great! I love to wade around in the shallows and out on sandbars too, so it was fun to see all the wonders that the gulf has to offer up. The urchins were technicolor on my screen, so I think they were my favorites this week. I did find the first Pear Whelk you picked up to be particularly beautiful and I’m always a sucker for an Auger. But the whole haul was gorgeous! Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to you too! I love when I can catch a nice low tide. I am always surprised by what's going to be out there to discover. I'm bummed these evening storms are now starting to pop up regularly. I'm not sure when I'll be able to catch another low evening tide! Hope you have a super week!

That's why I love low tides. You can see all of the seashells and critters. I find Baby's ear moonsnail shells here in Philippines but they are so small at first I thought they were abalones lol. Btw amazing finds I always wait for your latest videos, looking forward to the next one

Oh I couldn't imagine finding an abalone! I've seen the live baby ears but they're usually just about full grown. To find a little one would be so fun! I'll be on the lookout!

Nice to find all those sand dollars out there on the sand bar. Lot of live shells and shells with hermit crabs in them. Good Angel wing shell finds. A pretty good haul for the day. Happy 4th of July to you.

Really cool info on the skimmers. I've only seen them as they skim here, never in groups at the water's edge like that. They have roped off areas for nesting on Honeymoon, but I don't think it's for skimmers. Yes, fantastic crown conch! Craziest thing. I went to Ft DeSoto Park with my cousin that was visiting and when we went out a ways there were literally hundreds of live sand dollars, mostly small. It was like a hatchery and very cool. Sort of like the urchins! Very pretty pear whelks! I think the slippers can live if removed, but I don't ever do it. Wow! That is the most active urchin I've seen!! Love the fast-forward videos! Very interesting info on the sea cucumber. Really nice big angel wing! Man there was hardly anyone on the beach there. Surprising... You did really well for June. Thanks, Sharmon! xxoo

Agreed - very good for June but I suspect the low tide helped. If I were on the beach I don't think I would have found much of anything! I've always wondered about the slippers and someone else said they could be harmed by popping them off so I think I'll continue with my, "leave them be" policy. Those sea cucumbers are crazy fascinating! xoxoxo

HAPPY 4th OF JULY MY AWESOME BEACH FRIEND!! Hope you guys have a good one. I wish I was down there right now. Can't wait to get moved down there and have my first holiday. You bring the beauty and nostalgia of Florida beaches to us who are not as lucky to wake up to Paradise every morning. Thank You so much. But one day soon.
