I remember shelling on Sanibel in 1967. Awesome shells, beach empty from people, nice shell, what ever happened to the big Paddle wheeler that was beached there, to build a motel. It was falling apart then. But it would have been nice if they would have fixed up

How do you clean the black and white ponderous ark without removing the black part? Bleach takes it off.

I held this up for Mom to view. She's been watching for yr to yr and a half. I send it to messenger on FB. Today I did it early on after the ventilator tube came out . At 84 last Wednesday, she went in week ago last Friday to the ER with a UTI. She and dad said don't come. We've been here since 5 am coming home her in a bit around 11. 11 45 dad calls they are taking her for a stent between bladder and kidneys. She was tired at 7 pm from up the night before. I said goodnight. Dad going to bring her home Saturday. Her stay home. Dad calls her BP low so keeping her for observation in step down unit. They talk tell how they met to nurses 64 yrs ago, etc. Daddy tells her all day he loves her. He thinks she's pale. He gets home before dark. 7bpm she goes upside down . Trying to get out of bed . They get afraid she'll pull a line. They sedate her in am she has mitts on. BP too low. I asked the Residence if it was Septic Shock. Yes. Sunday she oeros at us repeats for 15 minutes water, I love you , I love you. to daddy and me . Nothing after Monday afternoon. No response BP comes up one bo gone, 2nd gone, 3rd antibiotic added Monday. They clear the ecoli from bladder , platelets hit 19,000. Heart strong, brain no stroke . She's not coming around but other things show positive. She can't clear her mucus in throat. Vented wed. Heart rate fell the bo friday afternoon I gave permission for shock, no chest compressions. They had started 2bd day dialysis to remove toxins to see if it helped clear fluid and maybe help bringing her around.A bit of heart med , rate came back in rythem. BP up to 122/ 75 Sat. Infections cleared White b count still 33. She became responsive Saturday. Infections look to have cleared . Breathing test went well. Dialysis cancelled Friday day. Done early Saturday morning. Rechecked brain with MRI at 2 am. She was responsive by 10 am. Sunday am she became very lucid , they removed the vent tube they set bed up . She rasped wds 2 times, but loved her mouth and folks read her lips, she shook her head yes , no, winked at everyone during the day. I thought we cleared the hill. They said she can't cough strong, or clear the muciuse deep down were concerned tube may have to be replaced. Attending her throat could also just be inflamed and not all mucus problem. So damn up again , smacked down again . Then she gutted me. No Kate morning all early afternoon to going back on vent . Shook her head on 4 different occasions no, moved her lips no . Daddy, joy I don't want to lose you . Me talking over FB Messenger as I have the flu for 2nd time in 63 yrs and my 2nd bladder infection which now I have lots more respect about immediately being proactive. She said no to me on FaceTime . She's lying there dad next to her I send this video to him , then walk him through messenger so he can show it to her . She frowns at him and closes her eyes several times and I say dad out her reading glasses on. Then she watches the video. After dad gets me on FaceTime age winks mouths thank you and winks at me. Now I wait hr by hr. Hoping she doesn't start having issues with her breathing. They will not step in to intubate per her wishes. She said other and I sent last weeks episode. She mouthed better shells lol

Hi Sharmon! Sorry you have had an off week for whatever reason. Just remember there are lots of us out here that turn to you on Sunday nights to turn our off week around. You are so loved by so many people! You sure make my day better every time I watch. So soothing! And the shelling is pretty good too, lol! I swear if you just walked the beach and talked but found nothing, it would be therapy for the soul! My favorite tonight was of course the Egg Cockle. I don't know, just love them! Hope your week is better and your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

We went today to Lovers Key at Low tide and I didn’t find much. What I found most was bay scallops. A couple lighting whelks and one banded tulip . There were lots of people there. It is a fair walk to get there. Wasn’t expecting that. Tomorrow is Cayo Costa and Wednesday is Keywaydin. Hopefully better luck there. Looking forward to next week’s video.

Watched a tv show about fishermen and clam diggers around Cape Cod. They said that people mispronounce quahogs as "ko hogs." They said it is actually pronounced "kwah hogs." They were rather adamant about that, too.

I have a question....when I collected seashells in the 1960's the calico scallop were called Pectin Shells? Am I wrong, or did the name change?

Oh I absolutely love the beach and shelling. It's my most favorite thing in the world. Unfortunately I won't ever get to do it again so I have been getting my fix through you. My favorite shells are the welks and conch shells. Thanks so much for taking me to the beach every week. I hope your days get better. Everything happens for a reason but this too shall pass.
