Here I was, just admiring your boat with no clue I was talking to sailing royalty. Nice to have met you in Subic! I was the 36 foot twin outboard parked next to you in Vascos and you told me the HH cats would now be built in Cebu. Safe sailing and hope to see you again on the water sometime!

So, what do you think? Should we start turning CURIOSITY into an underwater wreck hunting ship? I bet we can get Jay to join in too. Good food and lost treasure...sounds like a good combo. I'm in Canada, but I grew up so intrigued with love for the Philippines. Throughout my life I have been surrounded by such nice and inviting Filipinos. From friends in elementary to high school, and with every job I have ever had. Due to this, I do know a little Tagalog. When I speak even a little Tagalog, they light up that I know anything in their language. Their joy brings me joy. Plus, the food is amazing as well. I hope to visit the Philippines one day!!

What a ridiculously cool place, and the guy curating this museum is definitely one of the most spectacular parts of the history here. There should be a docu-series done to tell the stories he has collected over the years he’s spent here uncovering sea-bed graveyards. This is why I loved getting to spend the years I have in Asia. These kind of people and places are just randomly scattered all over the place and waiting to be appreciated. Most of them will never be seen for what they are worth. Thanks for using the platform you guys have built to put this one “on the map” for us! …and then the second part of the video, definitely giving “Somebody Feed Phil” a run for the money! Well done!!

So much to do in Subic. My wife (Filipina) enjoyed seeing the old market, where she has shopped many times. Our home is on the beach in Iba, 75 km north of Subic. The Filipino food is great. We are at our home in WA now. We left the Philippines a few days before you arrived in Subic. We have Lumpia in the freezer ready to eat whenever we want. When at home in Iba, I have 2 Mangoes each morning. Zambales mangoes are the best.

Yes, Philippine mangos (I call them Manila mangos) are the best in the world-I'm having one for breakfast today. As a nurse in San Francisco, California, I worked with many Filipinos nurses-with their beautiful smiles and their kind, generous nature, they're also the best people in the world. The market looked amazing. And, of course, thank you so much Nikki and Jason for showing us around-I love that you're under sail again.

I’ve been thinking about you and RR2 this week. My husband and I are in Mexico on a beautiful beach where many large catamarans bring tourists to spend a few hours. When I see the boats, I marvel how large and graceful they are. It would be fun to see your turquoise hull sail round the bend but I know that you’re on the other side of the world and that wouldn’t be possible.

My experiences all happened in the late 1970s. Would love a tour of the whole place to see how it’s changed. The Philippines and its people are wonderful. We were updated since your old boat videos from the day You departed US land/water to South America & pacific islands to New Zealand & all islands trips then covid & to new boat and wow im amazed with how Australian came to do that with their ph under water discoveries. im with Australian friends here too. They plan to bring boats from HK to Central Ph and the expert suggest to get into Subic bay area as first stop arriving ph. Good to know there are good stuff there. Been there maybe 20yrs ago Subic was not crowded.. a very nice place but cant remember where. It was school trip from Manila. Hope to see you here when You come Back HK ether with Your beautiful boat or You buy some boat gear again. Cheers

1977, wow, I was diving all over California & Hawaii working in the dive industry. I'm amazed i didn't hear of this discovery. It must have been kept under wraps. Otherwise, a gold rush would have ensued. The US diver mark 5 doubled hose regulator was dated in 77. We were using single hose by then. In 77, I was 24. I went and saw Jacques-Yves Cousteau on the Berkeley campus around 74. I worked in a dive shop owned by AL Giddings Sylvia you mentioned also would come through. I had a conversation with JFK Jr. Who also hung out with AL. AL developed the first underwater 70mm camera that he filmed the movie The Deep. Cheers from Northern California!!!
