Hate on this recipe all you want but these are the recipes you never see in a book. Recipes like this are the legacy your grandmother leaves when she passes. I grew up eating this, and just as my family had for hundreds of years and my children will one day. She even said in this video it was not originally called pot pie! My grandmothers recipe even says Bott Bie. It was a dialect of German used by Amish called Pennsylvania Dutch. The name pot pie was just something created in translation.

Got to agree, any food manfacturer would not have allowed this. My mum is a supervisor, and despite not working on the food production line, just observing and checking quality control, she has to wear the full colthing, hair net, gloves, white coat, even no slip rubber shoes, ect.....while she is a nice presenter, all that hair flying around is asking for trouble.

Great video and very educational. My ONLY problem being it was a commercial/restaurant business was she NEVER wore a hairnet while she was preparing the food (making noodles, stiring the pot, etc.). I'm very skeptic about eating a Campbell's product now. If they would sponsor a video having a serious food violation like that with their good name attached to it, I can only image what they do behind closed doors.

Lies! chiken pot pie is much older then stated in this video and is nothing like this modern version. Chiken pot pie originally was mad in a pot made of dough that was similar to hard tack. The chiken was skinned then the body cavity was filled with fresh fruit. The fruit filled chiken is then sealed in the pot made of dough and baked.

As a former chef, these videos kinda frustrate me. Poor Camille just seemed to be getting in the way. As someone that's had moments with 'on camera personalities', you just wanna push them aside and get down to brass tacks about what you're doing and what's going on. Good video though!
@werewolfjones31788 жыл бұрын
+Werewolf Jones At the end of it all, not a lot of information was passed on. Some people stirred stuff in a pot, some noodles were rolled out - but what were we looking for? What makes a pot pie noodle? What are the qualities in the stewing chicken and broth that are necessary elements for this?
@werewolfjones31788 жыл бұрын
+Werewolf Jones Other than the name etymology, what's the origin basis for a chicken pot pie? Why would they do things this way? Cultural reasons? Practical reasons? Regional supply reasons? These are the questions I think your viewers have, and could have been answered more thoroughly. Laying a soft guitar overtop isn't going to fool people, when the questions asked at the start of the video by Campbells are largely ignored.

this was cute but something just doesn't seem right to me 😂 like I don't have super strong roots with the pa Dutch but the accent in my family always stuck. simply hearing someone who "grew up" with it call it POT PIE makes me cringe. you can always tell which you are talking about about here because the good stuff is pronounced more like "puh-pie" (actually watching this video and hearing what the pa Dutch originally call it makes so much sense so thanks on that) also side note: I know cambells was trying to make a like homie family dinner give with this but usually this is eaten by itself.. MAYBE with some rolls. and definitely in a bowl because IT'S LIKE A STEW HOW YOU JUST GONNA PUT IT ON A PLATE. like maybe getting multiple sources to make it more authentic. one more side note: riding in a buggie is so touristy. I've lived here my whole life I personally have never even seen any "english" riding in a buggie in lancaster. mmm.

Really my only and biggest reason I did not like this was the fact that no attention was placed on the host's dirty looking, stringy hair hanging over everything she touched. This would never be permitted in a commercial kitchen. If the Health Department were there the whole meal would have been thrown out. Then they actually served this to people? When you do a video for people to watch and learn from, please follow health standards at least where hair confinement is so obviously needed.
