Great story Sean! You brought the Lincolnshire Poacher song to life through the fate of just one man, the Enclosure Act was a massive blow to the masses. You mentioned Normanby, I used to work up that way 2000-2003 and I’m sure that I heard of ghost tales associated with Normanby Hall.

Thank you Mr Lovechild, its always nice to hear from you. Yes, I went to Normanby Hall a few years ago. The ghost is affectionately known as Norman but I can't remember the backstory. There is a haunted croosroads near there that I want to visit so thanks for reminding me.👍

No damn way!!!!!!!! You found the stone! I can’t believe it lol. I know this story and covered it years ago but have never found the stone! Can’t believe you found it! Great revisit to this story, the church up at well is a favourite spot of mine in Lincolnshire.. the mansion at the bottom has recently been bought and I believe they’re not allowing access through the gate, which gives access for be church (via vehicle). I know you must’ve been excited to find this stone, because I know how you hate filming in winter ;) Great video, all the best.

Cheers Lee. Yes I had been looking for the stone for over 20 years, I literally screamed and jumped for joy when I found it but I cut that bit out of the video ha ha. My parents live near Alford so I walk the Well Vale once or twice a year. Yes, bummer about the gates. I can`t remember a time when you couldnt drive to the church. Anyway, nice to hear from you and I hope you had a nice time in Japan, was Japan?

Hi Sean, hope you are well. Great to see your new content😊. What a tragic story 😢 Yes I thought he was probably not thinking straight because of celebrating with alcohol for a few hours 😢 His poor bride. Did she die young then too? I'm not surprised she is restless. Hope they are reunited. Anyway! I got all excited when you said ghost hunt lol 😂😂😂 But I donr blame you!! Tooo cold. Look forward to next time XxX😊

As always excellent video Sean and a very interesting one. The Dadleys were a big family of gamekeepers that went back generations if i'm not mistaken. Most of them were head keepers and were well known for not taking any nonsense. They keepered Norfolk,, Suffolk and im not sure if one didn't keeper one of the royal estates. I read up on them a long time ago and it was very interesting reading. Most nights there were confrontations and fights during the winter shooting seasons in the moonlit corridors of the woods.

Thank you very much Wayne, yes I remember reading somewhere that he came from a long line of gamekeepers. I wonder if the family tradition continues to this day?

@@Seany63 Not that i know of Sean, but perhaps another subscriber might prove that wrong. As for them all being gamekeepers it was back in the day when family traditions just passed down from father to son mainly. Like you though why the guy went out without his gun is a mystery to me.

@@kariwellborn5083 Well, Kari I assure you its so bad that even I don't have a copy. Long story short, they published my notes and not the finished stories. The publisher was a small one-man band operation and the chap was going a bit senile. The only good thing about it was my illustrations. It was first published over 20 years ago and now thankfully out of print. My mother has a copy and I hope it's the only one in existence.
