Oh my gosh, this one made me shudder, but so interesting at the same time. You were very brave going up that spiral staircase… I got so into the story I was scared the bloody black dog would be hiding up there! I guess that should be a compliment of such a wonderful presentation, you had me on the edge of my seat. Thank you so much Sean. 😊

Thank you for the lovely comment jay. I have been fascinated by the legend of Black Shuck for many years so I really enjoyed making this video. Thanks for your concern however, the scariest thing in the church that day was me.😄

Nicely recorded for posterity. I knew a small guy called William when I was out that way, that’s right Bungay Low Bill - huzzah! 😂 Darkness song too, Lowestoft’s (and possibly The Earth’s) finest ever rock combo. Bocko! 👌👍

Thanks old pal. You will find recordings of my posterior in the outtakes. Yes, I think he is related to Bungy nose Wilkinson, 🚴‍♂👌Ok that didn't work but I think I got away with it. Yes Darkness, a bostin band.🤘👌

i love the Bungay legend. Funny enough my neice has just been learning this at school for a project. As you say, lots of black shuck stories across the UK. I once visited Lyme hall in Cheshire. On a wall is a painting of the former lord of the hall in the 1800s. It was painted On his 102nd birthday. He's sat in the chair with a huge dog laying on the floor in front of him.bIt filled the whole floor. I asked what it was and the tour guide said, a former breed of dog used for deer hunting. They could actually bring a deer down. They died out, he said, this was because they were expensive to keep food wise so were finally no longer of use, as wealthy land owners found there wealth demised. Amazing painting though and always reminds me of Bungay. Lyme hall isn't far from Stockport. It's also still full of deer. Cheers Sean

Thank you Kelly. Well, if I had been taught about Black Shuck when I was at school then I probably would have turned up for classes more often. Wow, that's really interesting about the painting. I used to work in Stockport, I wish I had known about it back then. Thanks again Kelly.

Thank you Michelle, yes the steps were a bit claustrophobic but it was worth it to see the priests room. If it had a bed and a widescreen TV then I would still be there. Oh, just to say that I saw your friend request on Facebook. Sorry for not replying but I deleted my account a few years ago and now somehow it's back. I can't get rid of it so I just choose to ignore it. Anyway, thanks again Michelle, see you next time xxx

Incredible Sean and thank you. I thoroughly enjoy you uploads especially around Lincoln and Louth. I've often wondered about Covenham. 2 Churches, Saint Bartholamew and Saint Mary are so close together. Literally a stones throw from each other. I often wondered why but then again Coven full of Witches and ham is short for hamlet.

I sometimes find folklore to unreal to believe but when you hear it backed up by clergymen and marks on doors you do have to wonder, add to that the fact it's survived so many years you really can draw conclusions. Another excellent video, as always thankyou for the entertainment.

Cheers Lee, yes its also one of my favorite movies. I first saw it at a cinema in London not far from Piccadilly Circus where they filmed the ending. It had only been a year since they had filmed there so everything still looked the same as in the movie, It felt very sureal. Thanks again for your kind words Lee, all the best.👍

I grew up in the North of Lincolnshire. I would love to hear about Fulstow and Dead Man's Hill. Whilst at college in Lincoln, the Arboretum off Monks Road was a favourite place to relax between lectures. What was on the site of the college before it was a college? Just some more ideas for you, maybe for next year. Happy Halloween. Keep warm.
@Seany63
@Seany63 Жыл бұрын
Well, sadly I don't know of any stories connected to Fulstow but Dead Man`s Hill sounds ominous. The college was built on the site of a cattle market, I can`t remember when but there are photos of the old market online. Yes, a Happy Halloween to you also👻👻
