You raised a respectful and fine son...you must be a proud papa. Glad your health is progressing in the positive. I can't dive because of a rare lung disease, so I take what you say to heart. I feel for you Juells. Where I'm at : Too old to get (close to affordable) insurance. Going to the U S for medical. Likely will add up to BIG bucks. Plane, waiting for appointment(s), Living expenses. etc.... even with medicare. Big fear here. Using all your cash for medical , and ending up in the public hospital.

I agree with you, Juells. Everyone should have a fairly large emergency fund set aside, just for these types of situations. Every time I mention it to my Wife, though, she gets all gloomy and sad 😢 At least we’re realists about these things? Now if we could just get our Pinays on board? 😂🤣 Hope to see you in September 🙏

Juells, so glad to hear from you man, and glad you are making progress on your health. The main reason I have not been to the Philippines is because I am getting thing a few things myself. I am trying to get my health better, and getting my money right. The plan is late summer or early fall 2025. Your trees are looking great, and looks like they will produce lots of great fruit. I Pray for you Brother. Since I don’t live there yet, I can’t help you with any suggestions, and yes the price is higher because of the skin tax. It will be that way, and I expect that, even though I don’t like it. Gods Blessings to you and your Family. I am not from the South, but in my part of the country, we live and work like the way of life you talk about. Very conservative, and very humble, and we are often called the North Country Hillbillies. I hope that we meet some day, as I waited late to Make the move at 70 this fall, but my LDR Filipina Wife to be is 61, so I am happy with my future.😊

Thanks for your insight and knowledge. My dad and mom were born and raised in the PI. With a young family and a way to start a new life, Dad joined the US military and was stationed in the States. After retirement, he basically did what you’re doing: leave the US, build a home, but retire to his childhood town in the PI.. Unfortunately, while he was in the PI, he suffered a stroke and eventually moved back to the States where he was able to be better cared for. It’s been eight years since his passing. Who knows what his outcome would have been if he had the same experience in the States? But he lived his dream and I’m so glad he did. And since turning 60, I too, started to really reevaluate the whole OG situation… My mom still own the PI property and after watching yours and a few other channels, it has brought some interests so I thank you!

Spot on Man 1 year ago I had a fall, dislocated both shoulders,well traveled to Davao,Cebu, Surigao ( because of location) spent a lot of money traveling around to find a Good Surgeon made a decision and went with a doc in Cebu,the cost of renting a condo, therapy someone to watch the kids back in Dinagat Islands,long story short Well over 1 million and am not so pleased with the outcome. So to All it is not easy to find a good Doctor.We are not in Kansas anymore,sorry my humor is a tad off Anyway Thanks for your vlog.Keep up the Good Work! Peace out!

The healthcare in Philippines are kind of spotty and wonky. Depending of the economy of the island u are on. Many expats seems to ignore or forget that Philippines is 7000 islands and many of them DONT have a major hospital and only a small rural clinic until its to late. I go over to Thailand 1 time a year for full complete medical checkup cost about 80 $ with alot of comprehensive lab test papers and doctor and no insurance is needed u pay cash. Thai healthcare is ranked 5 th in the world..the Us is ranked 13 place and phillipines is on place 40. I seen over the years that many AMERICANS seems to have a aversion to visit healtcare and doctors and get simple cheap regular healthcheckups in se-asia ..and often wait until it starts to hurt or are to late.

You may have not factored in just how corrupt, bureaucratic and dysfunctional American medical care has become. Look at the death rate here. Its true we have vast knowledge and the best machines but they will not be used properly on you. Id say that you are probably better off with a doctor there who will work hard on your behalf.
