You could check if the probes can reach places within the dangerous space weather when you research the speed upgrades for the probe, and get the resources from there maybe if you research the upgrades for the mining ship and the transport ship.

Hey Nilaus, love the series, can't wait to see the twists you face in the future chapters. When I got to this chapter I didn't notice the storm was moving! Lost my entire fleet and had to pull a new one together from scratch. it wasn't easy but it was a lot of fun facing that challenge.

I gotta say man that there only have been a handful of youtube series I truly have loved to follow the last couple of years. This one for sure is part of them. I noticed you while watching your megabase in a book series and I looove what you are doing with Ixion, always a thrill to watch how you manage to make everything so damn interesting. Keep it up man :)

permanent hull damage is strange considering you can fabricate all components that built the ship...
@wojciechkolaczkiewicz2881 Жыл бұрын
not really, in engeenering its called "material fatique". in reality it mostly consist of microdamage distributed in whole volume(of all parts), including parts that are effectively impossible to replace. there is certain point were building new one is easier than repairing, eg. imagine that monolithic main frame is so seeded with microdamage, that it lost enough strenght to be bellow safe treshold

@@wojciechkolaczkiewicz2881 True, however...in this game you mine raw resources and fabricate new ...so why wouldn't you simply replace compromised consonants? This ship was clearly designed with self sufficiency in mind food, manufacturing, etc...i mean you can build entirely new ships..seems reasonable that you could repair any damage done to it. Remember..this is the last vestige of humanity, yes it may be a lot of work to repair ..but my argument is its a constructed ship ..permanent damage isnt really a thing if you can make your own parts.

@@MrThesin there is something even more strange. If you store more than 250 cryopods you get a penalty. Up to 499 -1 stability, 749 -2 stability, 999 -3 stability and so on. So basically you're incentivised to just leave the people there to die instead of just storing the cryopods. Also that penality is station wide so you can't do shenaningans like storing them in one sector and forgetting about them.

@@MrThesin The ship isn't truly self-sufficient. It's designed for a hard, but finite mission. Tiqqun is a test ship, also, but Protagoras, a complete finished design, was designed to get to Remus and nothing more. It's not meant for continuous survival in the void. Also consider this: You see how much resources it takes to build buildings inside the sectors? Like whole systems mined to the best ability only gets you a sector or two of buildings. Now look at the whole hull of the Tiqqun. It would probably take enormous amounts of resources to replace that, not to mention, that you will have to vacate the whole sector and do that for every sector consecutively. It's entirely possible, but not plausible in the circumstances. Tiqqun was built with the whole industrial might of Earth plus space mining in the Solar system and it probably took a lot of time. As continuous survival is already a huge struggle for resources, it's just not possible to allocate them for the rebuilding of the ship, not to mention that Tiqqun probably isn't equipped for that kind of project. It's obviously beyond the scope of the design, which can be seen as a huge flaw in the hindsight obviously. Tiqqun was mean to only make a hop to the Proxima Centauri and back to Earth.

So I made it 15min into your first video of this game. Stopped watching it and bought the game. Its so much fun. And the story is beautifully told. Have had to restart a few times because of how hard it is but that makes the game even better in my opinion. Loving this series your doing. Keep up the great work and the amazing content you put on your channel!!!

Very nicely done. Despite saying the opposite you ran down that science really quick though. You could roll for a few dozen cycles in place collecting stuff before going further with the story, you can still collect everything the colony makes too, no need to click on picking them up right away. But you know all this.

I can't really understand how is it possible. I mean story-wise. You just found out that Etimananki considered Dolos mission as the enemy of humanity and there are signs of brutal conflict between them everywhere. Yet in the next event you find some cryo pods which will eventually be your population. Like.. How can they stand the fact that they are working on the enemy's station?
@Pugilation Жыл бұрын
There's some commentary about folks who come out of cryo pods have memory loss, though also there are some events where you have to move pops from one sector to another because Etimananki crew don't want to be housed with Dolos folks.
