Routes have been in Pokemon Go for a little while now and there are a lot of questions, some wins and some frustrations with the feature. Some trainers do not have the ability to create routes but hopefully there are some in your area. I have collected my gameplay footage from the past 10 days and cover it in this video to share how I have been getting cells.
In this video I hope my gameplay and explanation of finding Zygarde cells in game can help you collect cells like I have. Thanks for watching!

They should just reward them post route instead of potentially missing them while walking the route or at least make a notification pop up when one spawns even making the cell distinguishable the lil sparkle is not good, Reminds me of a spawn that hasnt loaded in yet.

This video is very good recording of how to get the cells and should be shared around. I recently posted about my method on tsr but this is clearer because of the visual aids. For my area, I have couple of routes that are 500m to 700m similar to yours, I always slow down my walk when the route is left with 60m. If the cell doesn't spawn, I'll stop entirely at 30m ~ 40m to catch spawns and spin the pokestops until it spawn. I haven't missed a single cell walking routes since I noticed this behavior. For my route, I always take the exact same one, the Cell spawn at the same spot 9 out of 10 times.

Thanks @5crew , I read a few of the posts on TSR reddit to give me an idea of what was working for other people. I'm mostly a lurker over there but I will post this and see if I can further the discussion and strategies for finding cells. Thank you for the feedback and sharing what you do for cells, I will try that on my routes today!

Thanks for the great tips! One of my routes was finally approved so going to try to get my first cell tomorrow. Hopefully my game doesn't constantly crash like it did for the making of the route. Wish me luck!

Good luck! Remember to try disabling adventure sync if you get crashes. I have heard that has helped quite a few trainers with routes!

Glad it was helpful! These cells can be tricky and rather frustrating at times but the more we know and can share, maybe it gets easier!

I'm up to 46 cells. Been grinding between 5 and 9 routes a day. Most of the cells appeared near the very end. I get as close as possible to the finish as possible without tripping it. Like your video, the cell does sometimes spawn simultaneously with reaching the end & if you're not very quick, the route ends before you can snag it. I agree with the first try on a new route. Also agree with a single route NOT giving a cell on any other than the first run. If you don't get one, move on.

Nearest known route is 50miles away, but at last visit there are at least 6

50 miles away is rough, I hope more routes get accepted closer to you or that you get the ability to make your own routes. Were you able to get any cells during your last visit?

@Allegingtuna no cells yet, did a route or 2 while in London, but no luck there either, but with luck your tips will help. As for getting a chance to create, as someone with nearly 200 Stops accepted, I'd thought I'd be a shoe-in, but at this stage I only know those folk 50miles away, and I know a lot of players within a 25mile radius and none have the ability. Quiet disappointing, but not something to get too stressed over.

@@2eurocoin Sheesh! 200 nominations accepted is amazing, I'm a little above 100 myself. Thank you for your exploring! Thank you again for sharing that information because some people have speculated that route creation was related to OPR/Wayfarer activity. 200 noms accepted and no ability to create routes shows that it is not.

To expand on that, I've 200 POI excepted, last year I visited Iceland and made a few nominations, upon returning home (Ireland) I was only getting Icelandic nominations to review, which I didn't do as most were in a language I didn't understand. 9 months later, that was finally corrected, but my enthusiasm in both nominating and reviewing fell off, so beyond occasional reviews or nominations, I've even barely active in that area for the last year/ year & half. So perhaps the theory is correct, as the routes I know of were from folk that I gave nomination advice too. S2cells,etc.

I had a similar experience but I was able to get mine corrected within a week. I had visited San Diego for TwitchCon last year and all of my reviews were in Southern California which is not where I live. I asked around and a friend mentioned that if I had done anything in Ingress while on vacation that it would flag my account for there so to fix it just do some Ingress stuff locally and it worked its way out within a few days.

Pause the route before you get to the end. Finish walking the route. It won't Finish your route because you have it paused. Collect the Cell. Turn around.. Walk back to where you paused the route. Resume the route and Finish

My experience is similar to yours, in that nearly all my cells have spawned towards the end of the route. I have also read in numerous places that there will only be three route spawns per route so I count mine. If I have seen three then I can be pretty sure I won't get a cell so I haven't bothered looking for them. However, a couple of days ago I was walking a fairly long route, just over 2 kilometres, but actually counted five route spawns and a couple of hundred metres from the end I got a cell as well. I don't know if this was a glitch or what. Weird.

This is good to know. Unfortunately, I am unable to test something like this because all of the routes in my area are rather short. Good observation, I will be sure to pass this along!

I’ve given up searching for them. They are ridiculously rare. Only one of the dozen or so routes available to me has ever given me any, and that only a few times. It’s just not worth the effort, and the other rewards for walking them are just too paltry for the effort. I got the ability to make them yesterday, but now have absolutely zero motivation to do so.

My suggestion is to submit yourself a set of routes that you can easily complete. I submitted and got 3 routes accepted that are roughly 700 meters and are all in close proximity to each other so that I can run different routes daily for cells.

I just completed 2 more routes with my staff today, but I still can’t not find Zygarde cell, because when we finished the third I thought the cell was going be at the end of the third route, but I got a text message at the end “zygarde cell no longer on the route” I could be wrong I don’t know.

@@Allegingtuna I play rural, so there is only one park relatively close to my house. My community is religious, and therefore doesn’t really like pokemon, so no one plays other than me.

Some of the clips it is on, others it is off. The autocatcher does not collect Zygarde cells at the time of these recordings.

Does the catch tool you use automatically collect cells?

Good question! At 13:41 I mention Zygarde cells must be clicked on manually to be collected, there is not an autocatcher available right now that will gather them for you.

I've done about 12 routes now without finding a single cell, the only route near me is a solid mile long and I have no option to create my own...sooo? NIANTIC FIX YOUR GAME!!!
