Many of you guys saw how we had reservations to finally make it to Devil’s Den Prehistoric Spring in Florida but ended up having to cancel due to freezing cold temperatures which would have made the experience pretty miserable.
Luckily, we were able to reschedule and ended up getting a perfect day to check out a spring that has been on our list since before we hit the road in 2017. We were interviewed by Winnebago at the Tampa RV Show in January of 2018, and when the girls were asked where they wanted to go in the RV, Leila’s first response was - Devil’s Den.
It took us 5 years, but Leila finally got her wish and, man, was it well worth the wait! We were pretty excited for this one, and all 4 of us thought it was better than we expected!
A couple things surprised us about this experience:
1. The campground was beautiful, and the sites were huge! It felt very much like a state park campground.
2. There were way more fish than we expected in the spring!
3. The water felt much warmer than we were anticipating, making the full hour and 1/2 tour enjoyable the whole time!

I must say the first ever RVing video i watched was KYD in season 1 at Devil's den. That was even before i got my RV. Those pictures used as place holders on KZbin are so important to capture the viewer. So is your super talented Lily going to go to college or art school now that high school is over.

For us Florida folk, that water is very cold. My wife and I were there a couple years ago and could only be in it for a few minutes. Our blood is alot thinner than the rest of the country...lol

I went in the back way to Devils Den in my car. Wouldn't want to take our RV in that way. Fun episode. When you are going up the east coast, stop at Assateaque National Seashore. We just came from there. We saw the ocean and the WILD HORSES!!! Your girls would love seeing them.

Wow Cory, you’re half dolphin. That looks fun! I learned the ear pressure trick doing a scuba beginner trip in Cancun. Used it ever since to get those deep shells nobody can get. Such a good tip for those who don’t know it though. Hold your nose and blow till the pressure is gone.

Great video guys. To answer your question, I (Brad) drink my coffee hot and black. My wife, Kristen drinks her coffee cold and usually has more flavored creamer than coffee lol. We do enjoy our coffee on our camping trips. Thanks for making me feel better about using the Linear mode with our GoPro footage. We've shot in wide mode before but I normally use Linear + Horizon Leveling. It's nice to get tips and learn how the pros do it so thanks for that. Safe travels as you continue on. God bless!

What an amazing experience! Devils Den looks beautiful. 💖 Google Maps has done us dirty before too. Stuck on a narrow dead end road with camper attached. Not a fun scenario. 🤪 You’re probably already there (or gone) from Savannah, but Skidaway Island State Park is a really nice place to stay there. 😉

Are you camping in/near Savannah? We were there in April '22. Tybee Island. What a great vacation we had. The campground on Tybee was great. I'm in a successful fight with Prostate Cancer, so it was nice to meet my daughter and her family from Lake Wales Florida there.

The washing episode did help. I bought that glass cleaner and oh my gosh I love it. No streak on my windshield and it was really dirty lol my back windshield has a couple of streaks but it was really dirty. I have a Jeep rubicon so it get dirty

You should go to Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina. We took a family camping vacation there in 2021 and had a great time. It is a beautiful island.

You are probably way passed Savannah but if ever back in the area check out Edisto Island in SC about 2 hrs from Savannah...Go to Botany Bay at low tide which is eroding away by the year...beautiful hidden gem...Two state parks in Edisto but are generally booked well in advance. Enjoy your adventures.. We have been camping with RV's and family since the kids were little... They are now older than you both LOL We now camp in a motorhome with our 2 young dogs. Headed to New England area September and October. I grew up in Clearwater Florida and never knew this place existed.. Thanks for sharing

Jekyll Island and St. Simons in Georgia is a good stop. South Carolina wasn’t our favorite but Congaree NP was a nice surprise. Have fun in Savannah, Wormsloe Historic Site is a must see…run Forest 🤣

Devil's Den is just amazing. We certainly enjoyed our time there in January. Outside temp was 50 when we went. The view and water was just incredible to see. So glad y'all got to go and we really enjoyed the video. I can tell you Joy and I had the spring to ourselves for most of the time and then divers came in and the fish got more active. I believe y'all are in the same campsite that we were in.

Hope the drive to Savannah was safe. The storms and wind have been a bit bad the past couple days. Creek fire is the best rv park in the area although it is open without shade. Don't bother with any Mexican food in the area except El Real in Rincon. Coming back to GA from NC it took awhile to find a good Mexican restaurant and El Real is the best i have tasted anywhere. As for sea food there is a place in Tybee called the crab shake that has live alligators

Nice! It's one of our bucket list plaxes as well. We are doing a trip out west this summer. Starting in Yellowstone for TEN days at Fishing Bridge, then 4 days at Coulter Bay, 3 days at Gros Ventre. Heading to Yosemite (With a stop at NAS Fallon for nostalgia), then heading for the 101 and up the coast to NAS Whidbey Island. AFtewards heading east thru WA, ID and MT to Glacier NP, then Teddy Roosevelt NP. Heading south from ther to the Black Hills, and then back to Nebraska to see out moms again. Maybe we'll see you at Sigsbee later in the year...Looking forward to our COLOR CHANGING shirts!!!!!

It’s a spring, so they can’t get in . I suppose one could down in there through the hole but I don’t think the chances are good for that.
