I really like watching your videos every week but, not wanting to sound rude, I have a….. suggestion. The video this week was almost unwatchable because the music in the background was very loud. I did finish it because I wanted to see your walkthrough but it was challenging. Again… not intending to be rude or negative as I do enjoy watching. I hope you understand. Enjoy your new, although temporary, rig and your adventure to Alaska.

I hope that this rig works well for you on this adventure. With the Li batteries, generator and solar they should have put in a 2000 W inverter. The 1000 W won’t even power your coffee maker.

1:56 Bam this is it in a nutshell! 🎉 we just became full time campers. 90 days in with my husband, 8 yo daughter, 2 cats in a 2013 Passport. We love it but we brought too much and now we are downsizing and getting what we really need. 😂

my one negative is the bathroom . i would change the door. it doesn't open very far, bangs on the bed and just seems annoying. in addition, because it's in the back where the slide is, you can't get to it... i think i'd put that closet where the bathroom is, move the bed further back fridge across or leave it and put the bathroom in the space created by moving the bed.... OR, get a bifold or collapsable door that doesn't open into the living space... but i could be very happy in that RV....

As an energy medicine junkie I’ve seen that When I am frustrated with something or everything I replace my response from ‘damn it’ to ‘bless it’. Like forgiveness heals this choice generates better energy for my experience as well as the universal pool. You are a cheerful, grateful upbeat guy which brings us back to check in and ride along. There is great power in our words. I’ve learned that hard lesson so now I practice speaking with neutral words of observation or heap on the feeling good stuff. Love always wins. Love you guys. Roll on!

I saw a post on RVing Alaska the Original that someone caught you in Alaska!! I was so excited but we never had the opportunity to run into your family on the road. We had the same idea for the summer. We left our GD fifth wheel at home and took a 29ft class C to Alaska. It will be awesome to watch your videos and compare your last adventure, and ours, to your new adventure. I hope you had a wonderful time. I know my family of four enjoyed our trip immensely. Great use of space folks!!!! I was wondering if GD put a lift on the bed or not. Hopefully they did because that creates a huge amount of storage. I would diitch the outdoor TV and make that hanging space for tools or outdoor cooking stuff! Just love watching how much fun you guys have. Thank you so much for joining us and for your kind words! So many people in the demographic looking at these RVs request outdoor TVs so it was something they wanted on the RV, but you could definitely remove it and make it anything you wanted! The bed actually folds from the bottom to the top so no lift needed and the storage under the bed actually opens up into the storage outside which has been super handy!

Grand design has overloaded the chassis with an OCCC of a little over 1,000lb That's a deal breaker for me. Shoot, our 2017 Winnebago Navion 24J has almost 1300 lb of OCCC and we have every option they made except for the 300 lb levelers which we find unnecessary in a class C. Grand designs making a huge mistake the same one that tiffin made. The OCCC must be no less the 2000 lb to be a game changer. They could do it. But GD must bring in the Winnebago class C engineers to reduce this weight. By the way GD is on by Winnebago now.

Sure would be nice is a company would build a 35’ class C on a Dodge 5500 diesel with 100 gallons water and build similar to this. Then you can be out for a while and not need campgrounds to park in. Still have the bigger unit for the weight issues and if you want to tow you can…

I’ve been very interested in getting a RO system for the camper. How much water can it produce? We always carry large one gallon bottles for our tea, coffee, and the dog’s water in addition to cases of bottled water. This would save so much space as I could use the instant hot for tea and coffee. I just want to make sure it doesn’t take 15 minutes to produce one bottle of water. We hydrate a lot. lol.

I see you're storing your DeWalt power tools and batteries in a compartment right next to your propane tank. If a battery catches fire -- and this has happened with DeWalt lithium-ion batteries -- and spreads to the propane tank you'll be sitting on a pretty powerful bomb (but not for long). Maybe there's a better place for those batteries.

Our rig has the Ford Godzilla E450 v8 with 7.3 liter Gasoline engine and our carrying capacity is almost 3 times that of the Mercedes engine. We loved the look of the Mercedes but decided we wanted to be able to safely take everything we needed for our travels. I wish to see Grand Design use a beefier chassis!

Cory, We met you and Jess earlier this year at Springfield, MO. My question is about the Waterdrop, does it go through its purge cycle ever time you plug it back in to 110v? We bought one and like it but are not able to keep it plugged in when we travel in our trailer.

I wish every travel trailer/fifth wheel made half as efficient use of space as that layout. There's more storage in that thing than some 38' fifth wheel layouts I've looked at.

Good luck on your trip. Like any RV, it has it good and bad points. I would ditch the bathroom door and install one that opens on a slide, and just pushes to one side. Then it wouldn't be banging on the bed. We just bought a class A and its so different traveling. Are you going to tow a vehicle?

@@FindingOurSomeday- Two adults together wouldn't fit or be comfortable in the dinette or bunk spaces, but if dad slept up in the bunk and mom slept on the dinette, the girls could conceivably share the 'master' bedroom. Just because it's possible, though, doesn't mean you should actually do it!😅

YES! We can run it off the inverter whenever we want to (it does have to be plugged in) but using just the water making function (the hot water needs a little more power) we can make water whenever we need it! It has been so great for this trip!

Its nice they gave you a free rv to use for a while. As far as a ton of storage it seemed that you would have to drag everything out to find something. I think it has adequate storage from the looks of it maybe better suited for 2 people than 4. Its a nice rig for sure! Thankfully there are no snorers in your family. The sheets are thin...lol
@tennesseetreasurehunter1162
@tennesseetreasurehunter1162 3 ай бұрын
Yeah awesome they get one for free, but this is a 2-3 person rv. No one living full time in an rv wants to continuously take their bed down. A sheet for privacy? There is no privacy.
@andrewfidel2220
@andrewfidel2220 3 ай бұрын
@@tennesseetreasurehunter1162 there's no privacy in any RV, I've got a hallway and a solid door between me and my kids, can still feel every time they turn over in bed. Maybe a $300k+ class A has enough mass and solid enough doors to actually give you a truly private space, but nothing I've ever shopped for would.
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 ай бұрын
We completely agree that this is not a full time RV for more than 2 people. This is just a quick summer trip for our family allowing us to get to things in Alaska that we didn't get to do before and allowing us to be able to get a taste of what the whole motorized RV Life would be like. We are all going to be very happy to get back to our new travel trailer that allows us all to have our own space and definitely more privacy! Funny enough, this isn't the smallest RV we are going to be sharing about this year!

Also, could I be considered a candidate to purchase this particular RV (prototype) after you guys have completed your travels? Thanks

Do you weigh more than 12,125 lbs with all your gear and all four people? Inquiring minds want to know. The weight of the coach loaded is THE MAIN ISSUE with these Sprinter van class C RVs. I am hopeful that the 4500 chassis solves the problem. We don't have to wait for GD to publish CCC on the final production coach. Are you over 12,125?
@JacobsenCraig
@JacobsenCraig 2 ай бұрын
I found a production version of this RV at La Mesa in AZ. The door sticker says 894 lbs CCC. I am so disappointed. The new 4500 chassis does nothing to fix all the overweight Sprinter class Cs on the road. I love this RV, but I will not buy something I know will be overweight on day one. So sad they missed the mark. 3500 Sprinter class C have about the same CCC. What happened to the 1,000 lbs in new capacity over a 3500? I guess Grand Design took it all.

I have a question. Is this your only vehicle? If so, doesn't that radically restrict where you can go when sight seeing? Some areas just can not accommodate a vehicle that size. And then, you have to unhook just to go to the store or restaurant. I hope you will answer this for your followers. Thanks.

This is a 25ft RV and we have been able to go anywhere we have wanted to in Alaska so far, which has been A LOT of places. The whole point of a trip like this was to be able to be as nimble and small as possible to get up to Alaska and to explore up here. And it has been perfect. See a bear on the side of the road? Just make a Uturn and go back to see it. Even if you have a truck and trailer that you could detach to go to the store, you wouldn't be able to do that. SO much more convenient. We have done really well timing our travels and stopping trips and if for some reason we have to go somewhere unexpected, we put the slide in and lift the Leveling jacks and off we go. Set up and take down are so easy in a rig like this. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
