This is such an important video for me and so many women suffering from hair loss - thank you for doing it and giving us some answers and guidance. The confusion, shame and fear is real. I'm still living it and trying to find my way back to having a half decent head of hair. It's a long process but I know many other women are going through the same thing and having the same problems so it's important that we talk about this stuff and support each other. xx

Nadine, you have just literally saved not only my fine and fragile hair, but also the vast amounts of money that I spend on the so called supplement, shampoos/conditions that are supposed to help, My eyes have been opened by an expert, and for that, I thank you. (And so does my bank account). Now off to see if the supplements are available in downtown Australia. Probably not, as always grrrrrr. Brilliant video thank you so very much.

I did not believe anything could repair hair, until I used Olaplex. And not even the no. 1 and 2; only the no.3. My literally fried hair (zig zagged ends, burnt hair) was all fine after just one use. I would never have believed such a thing could be true, unless I saw it with my own eyes. This was in 2016 and I have been repurchasing since then. Note that I had no high hopes at all. Also note that the damage was recent; it was not cumulative damage from years or months before. I used it very generously and on dry hair, saturating thoroughly, I kept it on for 24 hours wrapped in cling film, reapplying as needed. I could not stop inspecting my hair after I washed it off, it was unbelievable. And no, the effect is permanent, it does not wash off, because it's not a cosmetic fix that clings to your hair to make it look better. This was my experience with the product, but I had made my first purchase after thorough research. . I would've expected to hear about Olaplex in this conversation, but it was very informative nevertheless. Thank you Nadine and thank you Ian 😊

Olaplex is incredible. It’s really helped me too. Best applied to wet hair so the product can help to rebond the cuticle and you can continually dampen the hair as you leave in the product to help keep it working. This will yield even better results. Hope this helps 😊

Ian thankyou...you have given me hope. I had been told all the myths about not colouring hair etc and you are completely right....its a double blow to have hairloss but then be restricted in what styling you can do with your hair. Was also worried about the cost of visiting a trichologist but if it could only mean a couple of appointments that would be ok. Do you know of a good trichologist in northern ireland?

I do love his no nonsense approach and that he’s isn’t trying to promote expensive topical hair products. He seems really honest & genuine and feel I have had a “free” consultation listening to him talk to you which is another reason I’ve bought his supplements. Hi. I got bloods and went to a tricologist. My iron levels were low (17) and so she recommended iron supplements. I am taking Galfer and notice a big difference. My question is she also recommended the following treatments. They cost €600 for 10 sessions. I am half way though and haven’t noticed any additional improvements. Do you think the following treatments have benefits or are faff: Laser treatment to stimulate growth and encourage vasodilation, medication topically applied area used in combination with UVA light and scalp massage to encourage blood flow.

Interesting vlog I went to a well known trichologists in London which cost nearly £400 for the consultation plus hundreds more to buy the branded products they recommended. I was told to wash my hair every day (using their products) which I believe made it worse. My problem turned out to be hormone/diet related - eat less sugar/carbs and more protein especially eggs which are very nutritious for hair growth. Use natural hair products with no silicones/sulphate/parabans and massage scalp for blood flow.

I had hormone receptor-positive breast cancer and finished “active” treatment 2 years ago. I’m now on hormone therapy (tamoxifen 20mg) so in a kind of chemical menopause, and my hair is much thinner than it was before I started chemotherapy on the top of my head (strangely the hair on the back and sides of my head is as thick as it was before) and I’ve just had 2 major reconstructive surgeries which resulted in a loss of blood and anaemia. I have lost a whole lot more hair as a result and now have a bald patch on my crown, which is so upsetting because it had only just grown back from chemo! However, the anaemia and blood loss is on it’s way to being resolved. My question is: does tamoxifen have the effect of hair loss or thinning? And if so, once I have finished my 5 or 10 year treatment (by which time I will be about 47), can I expect my hair to grow back or is the effect likely to be permanent?
@wavyjenny602
@wavyjenny602 5 жыл бұрын
Also, if tamoxifen is the cause, is there anything I can do now, bearing in mind that hormones are a no-no due to the cancer?
@tiiti2003
@tiiti2003 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jenny. I have been on tamoxifen as well in the same situation. It is almost impossible to predict what happens afterwards because it depends on your personal hormone situation. I will say that overcoming anemia helped a lot with my hair. And after that I have been very careful to get enough protein and calsium in my diet so that my hair and even more importantly my bones stay strong. I suggest eating as healthy as possible (Mediterranean diet) and trying supplements. Your body has gone through a lot and it will take time to reach a balance. Stay positive.

My ferritin was so low-5, I was losing so much hair. Took iron but it wouldn’t raise my ferritin for some reason. Finally worked with a naturopath dr who got my ferritin to 102 and my hair is so healthy now.

@lisar9738
@lisar9738 5 жыл бұрын
My naturopath doctor had me take Dr. Mercola’s liposomal vitamin c. It is different from regular vit c. It doubled my ferritin in 3 months and I’m convinced the low ferritin is why my hair was falling out. I’ve read that ferritin needs to be at least 70 to grow new hair. There are articles online about it. The problem was when I took iron the iron would get dangerously high but the ferritin was still very low. That was when I was using a typical western doctor. I decided to go to the naturopath doctor and he has healed a lot of other stuff as well. My hair is so much better, healthy, stronger- not breaking and frizzy.

I am so frustrated I lived in The USA my blood tests showed borderline thyroid issues and I was given medication that really helped my hair skin and many other issues. NHS "OH there is nothing wrong you are just borderline." Minoxidil burned my scalp.

Michelle S omg I’m on merena coil now for almost 5 years, and ever since my hair has been shedding like crazy. I had such thick hair and now it’s less than half. It’s due to be replaced, but I’m now going to remove it. It’s now hubbys turn to be snipped. We’re done having kids.

Always had thick hair but since hitting 50 it was coming out in handfuls to the point it was blocking the plug. Since taking high dose daily Omega 3 I have noticed a huge reduction in hair loss but it did take at least 3/4 months.

Hello Nadine. I was wondering if you had any more updates about when Hada Labo is coming to the UK and where it will be stocked? I've seen that there are products being sold on Amazon UK by 'Official Hada Labo' however there are mixed reviews of their products with some saying they seem to have been tampered with (seal missing, improper labelling, etc). Thanks for your help!xCarina

You might consider travelling to Poland for a short holiday, perhaps a city-break in beautiful Cracow :-) You can buy Hada Labo products at every Rossmann there.
