Thank you Glyn and thank you Mrs. Rachael. His photographs are very impressive and certainly strike a chord with those who, like me, have three passions related to the sea: photography, scuba diving and sailing. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your spectacular images with us. Davide C.

Glyn - thank you for arranging this - your style produced a very relaxed session with Rachael. I have been going on Rachael’s workshops since 2018 and this chat was one of the best and really showcased the special person that she is. Trevor gave me the heads up she was on because although I somehow missed it being advertised - must try harder to keep up Peter H

Great video Glyn, for me its amazing to see and hear Rachel on your KZbin page as I first encounted Rachael way back in 2008 on Flickr, amazing to see her journey, well done Rachael.

Thankyou so much for this interview. I have been a fan of Rachael Talibart's work for many years and did not realise her photos were mostly land based but realise from my own work you can get some quite impressive photos from quite small waves. I was very interested to hear she used mostly a 70-200 and a 100 to 400 lens. I do wildlife photography and use a 150-600 lens on an APSc camera 225-900 equiv. on mainframe and have found you don't achieve as much for landscapes and seascapes on it as you would expect because of atmospheric conditions causing high haze when zoomed in. I will be very interested as how she will find 600mm if she gets one.
@RachaelTalibartPhotography11 ай бұрын
Thanks, Chris. I like the 600mm and have even used it with a 1.4x but only on clear days, for the very reason you mention.
@chrisbartlett814611 ай бұрын
@@RachaelTalibartPhotography You have encouraged me to do more of this type of photo. I also use the 1.4 and 2 x but only during the day as they reduce my aperture to F11 and f6 respectively. think the best wave photos I took where at castle point in New Zealand during a storm. The lighthouse is fairly well elevated on a large rock that you can walk out to at low tide and we could see the waves pushing high into the air on the oceanside and some of the waves were even coming over it and I would say it was 50 Meters high. When we were in England I was fascinated buy some of the photos on display at Port Leven during a storm some splashing higher than the church though fairly calm on our visit. I will have a good look at your website

Sorry I missed this live. Rachel, you are such an inspiration! I was born on the East coast of the US but stuck in the midwest US. I rely on travel for projects but trying to find inspiration in Indiana. I'm working on barns but also drawn to human impact on nature photographs. Barn project started during Covid😊

I've followed Rachael for maybe 10 years or so now and she is a master of her craft. She really is synonymous with the British Sea, I can't think of anyone else doing a genre of photography where someone says the genre and only one name immediately comes to mind for every person. Rachael is Seascapes/waves and Seascapes/waves is Rachael.

One thing thar could be helpful for many people: In some interview with Alister Benn Rachael mentioned that she process pictures months ago after capturing and image. Hearing that was so relief because of virtual pressure put on me (even i not a professional photographer and doing mostly for myself).

Why do people say (only to women) "it was SO brave of you" to travel long distances by ourselves....honestly, when will we grow up as a species?
@glyndewis11 ай бұрын
I asked it because I was talking to a woman, but seriously, after over an hour of Rachael explaining her process and talking about her work ... this is all you have to say???
